Once the light bulb represented ideas; today, its shoddy, government-mandated replacement, the compact fluorescent lamp (CFL), has come to represent everything that is wrong with the GOP leadership in Congress. Its time to get rid of the dim bulbs, figuratively and literally.

The House Republican leadership is clearly not up to the task. It has failed to perform to even the most minimal standards of what was promised and what was expected. Boehner is a nice guy. He obviously loves his family and his country. Id be happy to let him water my lawn while Im on vacation if I was his neighbor. And I dont care. Those are necessary qualities, but not sufficient ones. He and his cabal have demonstrated a total inability to perform to the standard required. They need to go.

Agreed.
From the standpoint of defining the problem, yes. But beyond that, it's just a rant. He gives no solutions. He simply sounds off.
But, I do concur. I'd rather see Paul Ryan as Speaker. Sure, he's new, but he's shown a grasp of fundamental conservative principles that the leaders in both houses fall short on.
The 64 Million Question: HOW do we put pressure on the Republi-Tards in the House to do the right thing and clean House (pun intended)?
I think someone (T-Party?) needs to make our displeasure known (a march on DC?) and find some way to let all R's in the House know in no uncertain terms: You are either with us or against us and if they don't move to replace the leadership, then EVERYONE who refuses to move (and vote) for such a change, will be subject to a challenge in 2012.
Cutting our nose off to spite our face? Perhaps, but it appears the only language these Congress-Critters understand is their "longevity" and chances of staying in Congress.
As was expressed in this article, if we are going to be represented by "Dem-Lite" we might as well be represented by the "Real Deal," and this should be made clear to not only the R's in Congress but the RNC and all other Republican Leaders that if they blow it this time and don't start "Manning Up," confronting and FIGHTING--not trying to get along with, appeasing, and submitting to--the Enemy, the Republican Party could be in for a shock when someone starts to look to form a 3rd (CONSERVATIVE) Party.
The only congressman worth his oats, IMO.
Lighten up on Boehner. He wasn’t picked because he would make a great leader, he was picked the GOP way.
It was “his turn”.
He was next in line for the job.
That’s whay we will get Romney for our Presidential candidate. It’s “his turn”
.
Sucks Doesn’t it.
(fairly) short / concise.
Thanks.
You are correct and yes, it sucks.
Government of the establishment, by the establishment, and for the establishment.
Sounds like something Nazis or Commies would do
Venturer -=> Thats whay we will get Romney for our Presidential candidate. Its his turn
Yeah, I have that sense of impending doom: The press, Massholes bussed into NH to vote same as 2008, and the GOP old guard are going to “appoint” Mitt; the guy who lost to McCain who lost to 0bama.
Yeah — like that’ll work.
Peet (disGUSted)
P.S. 3rd party or write-in (so no one has to ask)
Good article. Frankly, if the GOP in the House can’t repeal the incadescent light bulb ban and tell GE to go F themselves then what good are they?
When that loser Boehner let Fred Upton chair the Energy committee I was appalled.
I’m thinking of getting a warehouse across the border in Mexico and fill it up with banned light bulbs. Then I’ll hire illegal aliens to cross the border with some along with their drugs and other illegals.
That way the goverenment will look the other way. ;-)
