Nothing inside of iTunes seems to work, and I've been unable to figure out where the partial, likely corrupt, file is located.

I would put in another disk and see if you can figure out where the temporary files go.

Have you tried clearing all of the cache’s? Or restarting the system. It might erase the temp file.

While Macs tend to be easier to run, they are a bitch to troubleshoot.

The other thought is to do a search on a partial name of the movie. You might come up with something.

Locate the folder ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Downloads
Note: The tilde (~) refers to your Home directory.

See if there’s a *.tmp file for the item in question, and delete & start over.

use a real program like VLC (it’s free on a MAC) and you can recover any/all files that are good on the DVD. It’s not real easy to use, but you can figure it out. Google around. You will at least get the files that are good off the disk.

You will need a new disk, eventually.

With higher res (blue ray) it’s more common that disks are bad. CDs are more reliable.

I have no insights into the location of the temp files, but here’s a workaround: Create a new user account. Log into the new account (quit iTunes first if you use fast user switching) and launch iTunes. You may need to authorize your account in iTunes.

Try the download, and if it is successful, right-click in iTunes and select “Show in Finder.” Drag the file to /Users/Shared. Log out of the new account and back into your main account, and drag the movie from Shared onto the iTunes account to import.

Creating a new user account is a handy troubleshooting technique. The new account will have pristine preferences, caches, etc., which can help narrow down all kinds of issues.

Finally got MAC and its pretty tricked up.

I'm having trouble alert pop ups with ITunes. I've been assuming User
Error!

I'm somewhat disabled. What am I saying?! I have MS and summer time always is a problem - I usually spend most day either inside house or in bed depending on what MS will “allow” me to do!

Is it dangerous to spend MAC to close to the body? MAC is my window on the world. Spending MAC so close to body cause cancer, etc?
