Yes, thinking Bush did what he could do to prop up the Iraqis before he had to leave office, and the thought was they could pretty much take care most of their own security, that certainly will be of no consensus in this case

“aggressive”

I find it ironic the brass uses a manly term as a tactful way of describing a politically accelerated cut-and run

It’s been ten years. How is that “cut and run”? I want all the troops home. Declare victory and let the Afghanis run their own country. How much longer do you think we should stay? How many more dead soldiers? How many more billions? If we have no intention of “winning” (whatever that would look like), end it.

I would have liked to have seen what the MILITARY suggested.

All we know is that Barry did NOT follow their recommendations. For political reasons. Thus my comment of an “accelerated” cut-and-run

Somehow the recommendations of our military commanders on the ground there have not been revealed. Likely they might have recommended implementing part 2 of their original surge strategy and shifting those 30K troops to the northeast. But we may never know.

I think General Petraeus would be as interested as you in making sure the likely outcome was worth the sacrifices. It is likely a better CinC could have worked wwth his generals to fight the war with less expense and with ROE that reduced casualties. Obama’s ridiculous ROE —— I consider a major cause of the high casualties. His Harvard lawyers turned international war experts, have the blood of our troops on their oily hands.

This was and is obama’s war to lose. History will soon show us the result of his “aggressive” decision to pander to his far left base.

Geez...look at all the tinsel on that guy...not that he doesn’t deserve every last bit of it..but wow, what a life he’s had so far...millitarily speaking.

God bless our fortune to have men like Gen. Petraus in our midst.

Gonna be a great book...
