Thad McCotter To The Tea Party: Time To Grow Up
Outside the Beltway ^

Posted on 07/31/2011 10:32:24 AM PDT by mnehring

Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (Mich.), a Republican presidential candidate, called Saturday morning for Republicans and the Tea Party to stop fighting and work together to help save the country, presumably from Democratic policies, although he was not specific.

“On the right, take note,” McCotter said on the House floor. “It is as unwarranted and injurious for a Republican to call a Tea Partier a hobbit as it is for a Tea Partier to call a Republican a RINO.”

He’s right about one thing: Tea Partiers shouldn’t call anyone RINOs anymore. If you believe in freedom and small government and fiscal responsibility and you have an R on your voter ID, then you are the RINO. This is because the Republican Party no longer stands for any of those things. It is the party of Western European Socialism (while the Dems are the party of Third World Commmunism).

I guess our only choice as an American now is: do you want to work as a slave to the government and have some luxuries or do you want to sit around with nothing to do all day in a tin shack waiting (hoping??) for the daily food delivery?

May God have mercy on us all.

We have seen what you “Grown Ups” have done to this country for decades, McCotter. The “Tea Party didn’t start the fire, it sounded the alarm”, as Senator Sessions said.

Or even worse, waiting in the pouring rain in line for a daily bowl of fish eye soup in the barb wire surrounded FEMA reeducation camp no. 143B.

I know that.

So far as I can see, he’s had an unremarkable career.

Again, who is Thaddeus McCotter and Why should I (or anyone else) care what he says?

I like him, too, and fervently hope that his candidacy allows him into the GOP debates. With his intellect and wit, that should liven things up a bit.

Yes, you worthless TEA Party folk, it's time to toss out your promises to those who just elected you.

It's high time to join with the rest of us here in DC, WE know what's best for everyone, give up your sanctimonious ideas, let your voters know that you care NOTHING about those promises nor them.

It's all about US, it's all about our power, it's all about our greed and our corruption, you see and standing on your petty principles put us in a very, very bad light by exposing US as shams!

You shine the light of truth in darkness when we demand slights of hand performed, slipping crap into these bills after midnight or even after they are signed.

Please, please grow up, please join us, please don't blow our cover!

Actually, he’s running for president.

Why? McCotter has no chance to win considering he's a union toadie. This guy voted for card check. There is no way a candidate who ever voted for stripping workers of their right to a secret ballot is ever going to win the Republican nomination. From what I read he also supports the union pension bailout scam too. This guy should be lucky he isn't facing a primary challenge from a real conservative.

Good boy, Thaddeus, your compliance will be rewarded by the Left, and yes, the RINOs. Have fun at the birthday party!

Yeah. I was being hopeful and positive and assuming that we’d at least be allowed to live out our miserable lives under our benevolent socialist masters. LOL!

So it seems to many. Please tell me when the last time the Republican party has been as conservative as it is today? The Tea Party and movement conservatives have pushed the Republican Party further to the right than it has been anytime in recent memory - and in just a few short years I might add. If we keep up this pressure the GOP might become a genuine, serious conservative party for the first time in its existence.

Fall into line and accept the Democrat cancer. To hell with your principles and your nation.
Thanks for the advice, Thad.

He’s a brilliant, witty, part-time Conservative from Michigan, prone to moments of absent minded foolery.

Oh come on.

McCotter’s not a union toady.

He’s a congressman in Michigan. He’s standing up for his constituents, and frankly for American jobs.

Hitting the right buttons for this poster. Of course reasonable views can differ. Though I don’t consider your view to be reasonable!! :)

(just kidding)

This obsession with destroying unions won’t work, We will destroy America long before we destroy unions.

Somewhere between the first step of destroying America, and the second step of destroying unions - America’s economy will collapse and we will be replaced utterly, by the People’s Republic of China. Which is ironically - history’s single largest LABOR UNION.

Perspective, please. Let’s not tear our own country down ok?

I sort of like it here.

Is somebody now pumping out R. talking points?

McCotter, one of the faster flameouts in history.

Dennis Miller has him on fairly often. The last time I heard him, he
did take some calls, and one caller gave him grief over the auto
bailouts at taxpayer expense, and McCotter tried to direct the
attention towards all the jobs at suppliers of the automotive
industry that were saved, rather than the saving of bloated
workforce of under-worked, overpaid UAW members.

I believe McCotter advanced taxpayer funded bailouts for unions of his State giving me the impression wealth-transfer and indebtedness is not a serious concern for him.

In the grand scheme, it’s appalling the GOP is unwilling to use a fraction of the force employed by the Democrats; the kind of force recently used during the Left’s Obamacare assault on America. Instead, the GOP turns on its own sniping at those pushing for greater accomplishments.

>> This obsession with destroying unions won’t work,

Bogus premise.

The formation and existence of unions is legitimate up to and not including the point where extortion of taxpayer property begins. That’s the threshold separating Liberty from Socialism and Communism.

McCotter plays both sides of the fence. He deserves the criticism he’s earned.
