Paul Krugman calls for dictatorship
August 1, 2011 | me

Paul Krugman's latest NYT column, "The President Surrenders", already has an FR thread, but I want to call attention to the last paragraph:

"What Republicans have just gotten away with calls our whole system of government into question. After all, how can American democracy work if whichever party is most prepared to be ruthless, to threaten the nation’s economic security, gets to dictate policy? And the answer is, maybe it can’t."

Paul Krugman and the NYT believe our political system, with its checks and balances, should be gutted when it produces results they disfavor. Who are the "extremists"?

“What Republicans have just gotten away with calls our whole system of government into question.”

Uhh...actually NO. THAT was when Liberals forced Obamacare through.

What, you are surprised? Krugman is a full-on Communist, and they always require a dictatorship to implement their goals.

FUPK.

Krugman is a very confused Fascist Pig.

Still, as I pointed out before, someday he's going to make a mistake and end up drowned in a toilet when he aims the wrong hair ball in the wrong direction.

Krugman should go read this, linked on Drudge now:

Whether you agree or not, the lack of opposition to the Tea Party from the Left is their own damn fault. Good for us, sucks to be them.

Repeals what?

You are aware that federal employee unions outside of the APWU-NALC have no authority in law to negotiate wages and conditions.

Even APWU-NALC have no right to strike.

Which means there's not a whole lot for Palin to do regarding federal unions, which leaves only state and local employee unions.

NO CONSERVATIVE PRESIDENT could logically act to suppress state and local unions, or anything else constitutionally within the jurisdiction of of the states ~ right?

Back to first principles ~ it's been the state and local unions all along that've created institutional problems in the United States.

You mean he's NOT talking about how the democrats got Obamacare through last year?!?!

Who said I'm for a Conservative President? I agree with Paul Krugman. Our President should be a dictator.

Maybe "repeals" was the wrong word. Perhaps "outlaw", "prohibit", "end" or some other such word would be more appropriate.

"...After all, how can American democracy work..."

Krugsie needs to check with his buddy the "Constitutional Scholar" - last I heard, the USA was a democratic republic.

The left is NOT happy and they are not buying the “we got a good deal” line the Whitehouse. I’ve been reading some of the comments on thehill.com and politico and they are not having a good day. There is a story on thehill.com where a whitehouse spokesman said, “There is a lot in deal for dems to love.” one disgruntled liberal said “Hitler 1939: Lots in newly contracted resort camps for Jews to love”. Yes, they are comparing this debt deal to the holocaust, they are not happy campers. They’re also calling the defense cut trigger a Republican trick, stating that Republicans know all they have to do is claim that soldiers will not have body armor or enough supplies and Obama and the dems will quickly cave and allow the money from the defense cuts to be put back in the budget, so as not to appear anti-soldier. This will leave only the social spending cuts which the Republicans will not reverse under any circumstances.

APWU-NALC members also sign up for the medical program sponsored by their union ~ and so do people who aren't members.

What you are touching on here is a question of whether or not federal employees should have the right of using the power of computers to allocate their checks ~ like a payment to the credit union, a sum to a bank, an amount to the ex-wife, another piece to Salvation Army, and so on.

I'm not sure how you would deal with this since there's no mandatory unionism in the federal government workforce ~ and the employees can parcel out their paychecks however they want.

Seriously, think about what you are asking for.

BTW, USPS/Post Office Department have had unions for a very long time ~ and one of the reasons is they have GOVERNMENT SUPERVISORS.

I can assure you that if you had the federal government picking your supervisor you'd be a voluntary member of a union, preferably a very aggressive union with street thugs if you could find one to do that for you.

Ahh, the progressive left is beginning to get frustrated that the populace is not falling in line as they had hoped with their guy Obama in the Whitey House... so now they unfurl their flags and signal charge.

Our call to arms... Fix Bayonets!!!

If you really agree with Krugman you too have a good chance of drowning in your own toilet.

Sorry, but that's the way it is!

Krugman would love to see a dictatorship, especially if he would be appointed the ‘Reeducation Camp Czar’. He'd love to inflict corporal punishment on conservatives and also to give the order that peas must be included in every meal.
