Chris Matthews Blames Tea Party for Gifford Shooting
Brian Koenig ^ | 8/2/11 | Brian Koenig

If there's one thing Chris Matthews is good at, it's spewing rhetoric-infested propaganda that generally ends up making himself look like an ignorant dunce. Indeed, while the rest of the country was celebrating Gabrielle Gifford's surprise visit to Washington today, Matthews was lumping "gun-toting" Tea Partiers into the same category as psychotic murderers. Here is MSNBC's crazy nut job host in his attempt to play "hardball":

"It’s also important to remember why she was, why she was coming back. She was shot by a violent act, of course a person using a gun, breaking up a political meeting with a gun, bringing one to a political event which we saw a lot of during the Tea Party demonstrations, people carrying firearms to political events. The violent level of the right-wing in this country, not particularly this case but generally where people feel the need to show firearms at political events, I think that’s a bad development in our history to bring guns to political events."

"You should come to argue not to show your firearms. And to have now this horrible case of a woman who was shot down in her political act, meeting with her constituents shot, only not dead because of modern medicine and her character and her resilience, that is all part of this story this year, Howard, and I’m not going to forget it."

Matthews was careful not to directly accuse the Tea Party as responsible for the Gifford shooting, but his insinuation is quite obvious. But also, quite false. After all, last time I checked, two of Jared Loughner's favorite books are Mein Kempf and the Communist Manifesto - not exactly Tea Party-friendly literature.

He IS an ignorant dunce.

“The violent level of the right-wing in this country, not particularly this case but generally where people feel the need to show firearms at political events, I think that’s a bad development in our history to bring guns to political events.”

Simply having a firearm is not “violent”. Any more than having an alcoholic drink in hand is “drunken”.

Never mind our history has a great many occasions where people felt free to carry firearms around. Funnier in the old days when it was much harder to do so.

Yep, I think the Secret Service and other security should leave their guns at home...oh, wait, probably not.

You see Chrissy, it matters WHY people deign to “bring guns to political events”.

I think Chrissy should be shot...several times with a Tazer. It might shock some sense into his peanut sized brain.

Jared Loughner was a lefty who was a 9-11 Truther, called the wars “war crimes,” hated God and religion and said that govt. should provide a living to the unemployed like him. Yeah, Pissy Matthews, sounds like a real conservative to me.

Now to my usual post to any Chris Matthews thread “Of all the millions that die annually from malaria, this turd catches it and lives on—there’s no justice.”

And to think, the Republican National Committee once allowed this fat sack of communist crap to be a moderator at a presidential debate!

Well then Chrissy, maybe we’ll start blaming the liberals for 9-11. How does that work for you?

Well here’s an inconvenient little factoid. “Progressive” groups like MoveOn and the Kossacks were targeting Giffords district as well.
Golly gee, I did not know MoveOn and the Kos Kids were teabaggers!

It’s quite instructive to follow Loughner’s situation while he awaits possible trial, or committment, or whatever...

The state of AZ in charge of his incarceration and mental health issues has forced medication upon him, which before he had refused to take. He is still rejecting taking anything, and his attorney on his behalf got a judge to agree with him that the state cannot force him to take medication.

What does this tell you? How would you like to be in charge of this guy’s confinement and not be able to medicate this paranoid schizophrenic? Remember how he kept taking college courses and continually disrupting the classroom? Both his teachers and his fellow students knew he was nuts and potentially dangerous. He was acting out, every second. No one had a moments peace. They lived in fear he would bring a gun to class and start shooting.

This is the idiot that Chris Matthews is using to try to blame the Tea Party for the Giffords’ shooting.

The violent level of the right-wing in this country...

I'll be waiting for some examples. In particular, from any of the Tucson tea parties and protests against the Communist Care Giffords rammed down our throats (disobeying her employers). Never one arrest of any conservative and the cops were bored each time.

Chris Matthews says the things he does in an ever-increasingly desperate attempt to maintain an audience and to stay relevant.

He's angry because he can never be Tim Russert.

Tim, for all his liberal leanings, was pretty good.
