It’s just a terrible shame that Benishek has taken the advice of those around him who identify tea partiers as “crazies” and incumbency as the ticket for two more terms.
During the CR debate, I disagreed with Benishek, and was told that the battles that lie ahead, the Ryan Budget and the debt ceiling, were the things to focus on, not whether or not the CR cut all the money Boehner said it would. I was told repeatedly that Dan Benishek was not going to vote for increasing the debt ceiling unless, “we get something big” in return. That something was Cut, Cap and Balance, and was unceremoniously thrown out by Reid in the Senate. But when I returned to Benishek’s facebook page, I saw that he was willing to vote for raising the debt ceiling when Boehner’s “something big” turned out to be less than 7 Billion in cuts and no balanced budget amendment, I realized I cannot support Benishek’s voting strategy.
