More than ever I am not ready to believe anyone just because they say the right things and have a form of godliness. Cultists all do that well and are very compelling. I want to know more about his ACTIONS and history.

Then why did you vote for 0bama?

Look at it this way. Perry has been a legislator and executive for almost 30 years. He's done and said some very conservative things and he's done and said some things that go against conservatism. It's a long record to go through but I think he'll make a good candidate, and there's a good chance he'll make a good President.

Some people have a very genuine fear that he will end up being a Bush clone.

But also keep in mind that the very dedicated Palin cult monitors every single Perry thread and will spend the rest of the primary posting the most unflattering information about him front and center all the way up until November 2012. The odds of him getting a fair shake on FreeRepublic threads are not good.

Also, his political success over so many years might help him but will likewise hurt him. He's been in office long enough to be considered a career politician, and any politician in office that long, even a conservative one, racks up plenty of non-conservative votes, policies, and decisions.

“>Perry has a reputation for not sweating”

How do you “not sweat” in Texas? I lived in Texas and just thinking about it makes me sweat.

The TEA Party needs to have a “Come to Jesus Meeting” with Rick Perry on immigration and border control.

Rick Perry campaign ad: "Border"

Perry sent the Texas National Guard and the Texas Rangers to patrol the border that Obama was refusing to patrol.

What more did you want?

Building a useless Border Fence for $3 Billion?

Oh by the way you may be interested in a few Palin comments about Perry back on 2-17-2009 in a letter to the Texas Republican Women.

**Rick Perry is true to conservative principles even when others
think the party needs to go a different direction.

**He does what is right regardless of whether it is popular.
He walks the walk of a true conservative.

**Rick Perry is a leader.

**Rick Perry is proven and principled.

And a little more maybe gleamed about Perry from his campaign Theme Song.

We're From Texas - Eleven Hundred Springs

Good luck..

I'm not one who has much knowledge on "Bilderbergers", Tri-lateral Commission Illuminati

The secret to building a tri-lateral illuminated burger is two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce cheese, pickles onions, on a sesame seed bun.

Thank you, patriot08. You offer a strong counter argument to some of the anti-Perry folk.

Here’s my thinking: suppose it’s true that we only agree with Perry on 60% of the issues. I’ll take that - happily- over the current president, who I disagree with 100%.

I’ll have to conclude then that Governor Perry spends most of his time inside in the air conditioning, in that oddly cut coat and necktie, as opposed to Governors Reagan and Bush who I have seen in a number of ranch photographs in sweat-soaked shirts.
Does he have some sort of gland dysfunctionality that prevents him from cooling himself by sweating?
I must have sweated a quart today, mowing lots of yard & cutting hedges, loading up my truck, etc. That’s something I always liked about Reagan and Dubya, that they weren’t afraid of hard, manual labor. And something I dislike about Obama: that he doesn’t seem to break a sweat unless it’s in lining up a putt or reclining in a gay bathhouse.

About his religiosity....his quick acceptance of homosexual marriage in N.Y. is very troubling—an idea that is totally incompatible with Christian Theology and, not only that,—but incompatible with Natural Law Theory (Right Reason according to Nature) which is the basis of our U.S. legal system.

The idea is that inalienable rights can NEVER be voted away by a majority or by a Legislature. Inalienable rights come from God—and we have to go by His standards of right and wrong—not Lucifers! We HAVE to be in align with Natural Law (Locke)—it is the Foundation of our Constitution and legal system—if you get rid of that, you get rid of Natural Rights and God.

The fact is our Constitution (meaning and intent) can NEVER deny Natural Laws—such as teleological design of human beings. Children have a right to have biological parents when at all possible. You don’t design a government to make sure that right CAN INTENTIONALLY be denied. It is such a sick concept and inhumane to intentionally deny a child of their biological parents.

Homosexual marriage is a joke—Marxist redefining words again—Black’s Legal dictionary has always defined marriage as between a man and a woman and who in the h*ll thinks they can redefine words that have existed for hundreds of years in our legal system? Oh yes, Marxists!!!!! It’s their trick!!!! Pro-Choice for killing!!!! Euthanasia for killing old people.

Homosexual “marriage” ???? an oxymoron, and sick and twisted ideas to put into the heads of young children trying to make sense of the world. Oh—but that is what they are trying to do—control the worldview of children—make them think unnatural is Natural—to destroy their ability to reason and use logic....cognitive dissonance.

Right Reason???????? is not being adhered to. Our legal system is supposed to be RATIONAL—based on reason, logic and science—not urges and emotions. Just Law. All emotional political arbitrary law is unequal laws which favor some groups over others.

GEEESHHHH===Judges have got to be kicked off the bench when they ignore reason and logic and science.

Now, Alan Keyes analyses his so called “Christian” prayer and he does a very logical and thorough job of it. I couldn’t listen to Perry—he annoyed me too much. People who don’t adhere to Christian principles and label themselves as such remind me of Ted Kennedy who should have been excommunicated and was worshipping the devil as all his actions proved. I guess I am a little cynical of politicians-—but I have read too much of Machiavelli.

So—there are Christians and then there are “new age christians” who deny Biblical scripture. They do not think like the Founders of our Constitution who had a firm grounding in Right Reason, Common Sense (Thomas Reid), and Wisdom from thousands of years—particularly the Ethics of Aristotle and Cicero’s idea of Just Law—That which comes from God’s Laws—his standards of Right and Wrong—not Marx’s or Darwin’s standards.

Rule of Law is important if we are not going to slide into chaos and tyranny the way the Republic of Rome did—because they did what bambi and bush did—ignore the Rule of Law and apply only unjust arbitrary laws.

Here’s Keyes’ analysis of his “Christian” prayer— http://worldviewweekend.com/worldview-times/article.php?articleid=7419

Kind of odd, how so many of the known trolls of this website are showing up on Perry threads trying to make him look good.

Kind of odd, how so many of the known Palin Worshipers of this website are showing up on Perry threads trying to make him look bad.

Sorry, but we would rather save America from an Obama second term than worship Sarah Palin as if we were 8th Grade schoolboys drooling over an NFL cheerleader.

Is Thurston, who just signed up on Free Republic today to post a Perry vanity about conspiracy theories, one of your fellow Palin Worshipers playing undercover troll?

Free Republic does not belong to Palin Worshipers, reasonisfaith.

If, after the choice is between Perry and Romney, you Palin Worshipers keep posting your agitprop that it is best to boycott the election or throw away your vote by writing in "Palin" (and thereby act as a de facto Obama Fifth Column that helps Marxist Obama get reelected) you might not be around for very long on Free Republic.

I want a signed pledge that he will NEVER sign an amnesty bill and the minute he becomes POTUS, he will lock the border down with an iron fist.

That would be awesome. I'm not a fan of scamnesty, open borders, dream act or giving illegals in state tuition, just for starters.

Hey little girl, get some years in on the planet before you go running your young constantly spamming mouth off about politics, you do not have the experience. Especially regarding the muslim/illegal backed fraud and phony fake conservative that is Perry. Maybe when you get a bit older you will understand, or learn, how great this Country was before illegal invaders and muslim lovers like yourself started spitting up. It is in the books young’n, go read about it. We old timers lived it.

Unfortunately Perry seems to be a leftwinger at heart on immigration. He signed the first state Dream act into law, and defends it even today by referring to young illegals as “young Texans”.

So while of course he would be preferrable to Obama, on immigration Perry would likely be as horrible and worthless as Obama and Bush.
