I agree. I see this also. I am really tired of hearing people say “but we have all the guns”...and *we* meaning either conservatives or white christians, depending on who is saying it.
Many of those guns are going to be taken away by the enemy. That enemy being either the government or the roving bands of thugs. when law and order breaks down in a region, the power will go to self appointed warlords...intelligent individuals with the ability to lead a number of dangerous and competent men.
One rich rural white guy with a gun safe full of camo painted toys is an idiot if he thinks he has a prayer against this adversary. The more toys he has, the more the warlord will want to kill him.
Speaking of people with guns.....saw video of Texans converting to Islam...and they have guns.
With 600,000 plus Muslims in Texas, and scads of Mosques and Islamic Community Centers there...with their mission to convert Americans.... one wonders.......... how many of these newly converted Texas/Muslims will be packing now??
We have the M-4 bushmaster heavy barrel match grade and the AK 74. We love the Mossberg 500 tactical but the sights are non existent. we have ordered figer optic front and rear sights for it. Things are so bad in our area that we had gang activity this evening and had to call the cops, then about 9PM somebody slinking up on the back deck. We hit the deck with the Mossberg and the .40 cal. We stalked the whole yard front and back. About 30 more days til we buy our place in the mountains and then we will have a perimeter and a clear field of fire. Things are devolving faster that we expected.
your back yard should be lit up at night, shouldnt it? get some of those lights from Lowes or home depot which are solar powered and have motion detectors on them for after dark use.
A little yippy dog will both keep you company and let you know if some unwelcome visitors are in the back yard as well.

Folks can defend themselves against small groups of starving idiots with extreme vigilance 24/7 but alone can’t maintain the level of security long by themselves.
If as you suggest happens even small rural communities will turn on each other IMO.
Plan A.....never let such happen in America....ever.
I prep for loss of commercial sources of food water an utilities caused by natural disaster or my own fiscal troubles. My prep is a lifestyle not a hobby. We garden, we hunt, we fish an try to live a life of self reliance with as much barter an trade locally as possible.
And we carry for self defense. Can we keep what we have if all turns to a shit sandwich on a Tuesday an a dedicated mob , armed or not loots our area ? Maybe the first few times it happens but not long term.....by ourselves.
Communities have to come together to win an I don’t see such happening when less than 10% prepare for such hard times an the rest will panic.
So again.... We must never let such happen in America.
During my 26 year military career I have seen many sub third world disasters. Never ever do we want such in America.

We have a little yippy dog and she is terrific. We have floods on the garage in the front and on the porch. We also found some battery operated motion lights at Costco that you can mount almost anywhere. We have one on the back deck. When that light pops on you know somebody or something is out there. We are thinking of spacing them all the way around the house up under the eves. They are not expensive and easy to mount. You can also take them with you when you move.

Not in my AO. *I* am the most vile and violent, cold-blooded and meanest son of a bitch there ever could possibly be and there aren’t that many “dangerous and competent men” to overcome me and many more like me. We will band together to wipe out those that think they should rule and those that think, even so much as hint, that what is our is theirs. This is to the death. This isn’t politics, logical reasoning, rational discussions or pleasantries. This is survival or death. This is war, not some kind of political peacenik “police action”. If you think for a second that once pushed into violence that those of us with knowledge, means, and desire will sit back and let what is left go to warlords you don’t know us very well. I have no conscience, no remorse, no value for human life of that kind. Warlords only existed on TV thumbing their noses at our military because of politicians. We won’t be having any politicians telling us not to slaughter those warlords and their merry band of targets. I stopped caring about everyone else like those years ago when they felt my being a white male I owe everyone else living and all that I have. The only thing that will matter is destroying what is between me and my freedom. Let’s get it on. I number in the millions.

I may walk with a cane, but I backed down a convicted felon with a pipe who was trying to hit my father in the head about a year ago. I think he instinctively knew Id empty that Glock 19 I had in my hand into him if he moved one more step in a furtive manner.
That is a possibility however POTUS Obama is the greatest firearms salesman in this nations history even beating Bill Clinton.
Yes there are some folks with University degrees who would watch this happen & have absolutely no idea on what to do or why it happened however they are a very small minority.
As you have said the folks who want to run wild in the streets burning & doing the poo flinging monkey dance will be absolutely amazed at the number of deer rifles ,shotguns,AR-15’s,AK-47 variants stashed away in the back of closets & 9mm auto pistols in nightstands owned by folks who will in fact shoot back to keep their homes form being torched.
A shotgun is a modest start you also need shells ,slug & 00 buckshot ,pistol & ammo & most important of all is the will to fight back without the last you will lose all.
Question for you ,is the orange haired cannibal mutant live in a cage or a stuffed/mounted specimen? We here in Nebraska have a few of the green haired & I have personally even seen a example of the purple haired slack jawed mutant.
And the more top-quality scoped rifles the bad guys will get, which will be a big step up from their random pistols and AKs.
