There were a number of things that affected the 2008 election: 1) the media was bound and determined to elect Obama and shilled tirelessly for him; the young voted for Obama in record numbers; my son worked at at Outback restaurant and thinks he was the only one there who voted for McCain 3) McCain and his team ran one of the worst campaigns in history and 4) even though he wasn't officially running, George Bush was on the ticket with every Republican in 2008.
Look at the votes third parties received - it wasn't that high. Barr and Baldwin didn't even hit 750,000 votes combined.

That’s not a question to be answered at this time. The man can be strong in certain areas and that’s what’s needed.
Regardless of how you feel about either Perry, ronmey or Palin, papers like this, the L.A. Times or the Washington Post or the N.Y. Times will do all they can to take down these three that have a chance to take down the media whores chosen one.

I agree but I know what happened on this issue and it is largely how it worked out. People need to know they cannot trust certain candidates on immigration. This issue is critical and we have to call their bluff. Time’s up.

Palin was the reason,McCain got any votes at all,They (McCain )worked tireless to shut her down and throw the election!

He did say the Arizona law wasn’t right for Texas, but I don’t think he favors a comprehensive immigration policy. I’m not sure why he said it wasn’t right for Texas. Does anyone know why?

They don’t. Hubby, as a firefighter, was in a union for 33 yrs. He had this conversation often with the President, etc. of his union.

I understand, and your point is well taken.
However, for Cain to be effective in a Palin administration, Palin has to get elected. Her VP choice can serve her well by delivering Electoral Votes. Perry can deliver the south plus Texas, Cain can’t do that.
As people know, this Texan is FAR, FAR, from being a Rick Perry fan. I’m almost in the “anyone but him” camp...but Romney still stinks, along with some others.
So we have this ‘reporter’ comment:

This really ticks me off (more than tick, but this is a family forum). The FACT is, here in Texas (as in probably all other states), that ANYONE can get a state-issued ID card that is as good as a driver license (and looks just the same) for all except driving, for next to NOTHING. My kids got them (due to their very early college enrollment),
and it was nothing but a birth certificate and some ID from the parents. I have NO DOUBT that ACORN would GLADLY pay the few dollars for it, provided, of course, it was a safe Democrat vote (if you know what I mean).
Anyway, I still can’t stand Perry for lots of reasons, but I will still call a spade a spade and defend him where appropriate.
