There’s an easy solution:

DONATE MONTHLY.

Free Republic has become part of the fabric of many lives around here.

Make it part of yours: Ante Up

Five bucks a month will do it if everyone does it.

C’mon...

I'm not going to donate monthly unless it's required. I'd be happy to pay a monthly subscription if everyone else was going to. It would cut down on trolls and unserious people vastly.

I understand it's Jim's site, and he runs it as he likes, but that's how I feel about it. Making everyone chip in even 2$ a month would eliminate this problem, and not break anyone's bank.

Hi there my FRiend!!

As you said — just a small amount each month — from EVERYONE — would answer the problem.

What I don’t understand is why people who DO donate during the Freepathons(not the Monthly Donors) don’t do it as soon as the appeal starts. The goal is always reached, but why does it take so long — when every donor could do it early? It is not as tho the appeal is kept secret. They may not want to commit to a monthly amount but since they will give something — just do it as soon as the Freepathon comes on!
