Excitement is already building for the US Presidential race, and the Republicans are currently the focus in the build up to the vote on their party's representative for the 2012 US Presidency.
Recently, we've seen some interesting movement at the Gibraltar based British bookmaker, William Hill. Until now, Sarah Palin was an outsider in the race, falling behind in the shadows of Rick Perry and Mitt Romney. Her odds were around 20/1 that she would win the Republican nomination.
However, surprisingly, Palin's odds dropped to 10/1 and she may not be an outsider after all in the weeks leading up to the nomination.
The current favourite to win the Republican nomination is Rick Perry with odds of 11/8, followed by Romney at 2/1. Sarah Palin has not officially entered the race yet, but there is strong speculation that she will, leading to a flurry of bets.
Other odds:
Michele Bachmann - 4/1 Ron Paul - 7/1 Jon Huntsman - 14/1 Rudy Guiliani - 28/1
Who will win the US Presidential Race
Elections for the US Presidency will be held in November next year, and the current favourite to win is Barack Obama at 4/5. This is despite the fact that Obama's approval rate has fallen below 40% and he has the potential of becoming a president that is voted out after only four years in office.
However, analysts don't see a better alternative in the Republican camp. The Republicans view Barack, according to Barry Reid, political commentator, as the "Prince of Darkness, a cerebral elitist who is selling America down the drain." But they don't seem to be able to offer a better choice.
Michelle Bachman may be a colourful novelty, but her views have the potential to frighten away the leftist bloc and she will not last long.
While Mitt Romney is considered a front runner in the Republican race, "there's no evidence of fire in his belly," according to Reid. He is considered dull, despite his success as the governor of Massachusetts and his all-American picture-perfect looks.
Rick Perry, governor of Texas for over a decade, has more "fire" but has the tendency to put his foot in his mouth too often for his party's liking.
So can Sarah Palin offer a good alternative for the Republicans? Watch the odds at William Hill and other bookmakers.
“Rick Perry, governor of Texas for over a decade, has more “fire” but has the tendency to put his foot in his mouth too often for his party’s liking”
Ahhhhh the poor RINO’s are upset with Rick over the “tough” talk. Poor babies.
No habla espanol.
According to Intrade, the likelihood the GOP Nominee is:
Rick Perry 37%
Mitt Romney 30%
Sarah Palin 8%
John Huntsman 7%
Michelle Bachmann 5%
It’s some of the Palinbots smearing Perry on FR these days. Sad, but true.
I think you mean her odds dropped by half, not doubled. doubling means they would have gotten worse, not better.
What are they saying about Perry - the ‘media damaged him too much’, he ‘needs to wait he’s not ready’, he ‘needs to stay with what he is doing’ the GOP needs him there, he ‘quit’ being conservative with his big gov’t views?
Sarah always has fire in her belly and God in her soul and The United States in her heart. This is why she will be running for the presidency and why she will be getting my vote.
Heres the deal & you heard it here first. Sarah is not gonna run but Perry will have her as his VP.
Personally, I never liked McCain. I had heard of this gov in Alaska & really liked what I heard.
Even as my name suggest, I knew shed blow them away at the RNC convention. After the awnslaught attacks via SNL & the media & the loss, I felt this woman needs some experience in dealing with the media. Id personally love for Sarah to say shes not running & join the Sunday morning shows as a panelist to gain experience & allow her views to be heard. I see her smoking dementia Joe next time in their debate.

Wow. That’s a very impressive statement. Did you come up with that? It’s excellent....and true.
Disagree.
I thought I read in her first book (or somewhere else) that she didn’t want to be anyone’s vice president.
Anyhow, she’s WAY too ambitious to be merely a vice president. Why waste all that energy and effort for the No. 2 slot?
Thank you. I write for a living. But in this case, the words poured out easily. As you said it is just true. :)
So this far out, Intrade’s track record is rather bad.
Really, that’s awesome. Have you sent it to the Palin organization?
He didn’t put his foot in his mouth, he put it into the libs mouth, huge difference.
When it comes to Sarah, I felt her soul when I first was reading about her as she flew down on the McCain jet from Alaska before any of us knew her. We were all tracking the jet here, on FR, and wondering if she was his VP pick. We found out the next day she was. I was so impressed with her politically, personally, and spiritually. Long before she stood on that stage with her family. The rest of course is history. I do hope she runs.
I see her smoking Barack Obama and all the other posers running for president. Sarah's the real deal and imitations fade in her presence. That is why she sucks all the air out of the room. The lady has it. She is a true leader. She scares the pants off those RINOs and others that have trepidations.
Sarah is just what this country needs and aches for. The media knows this. They have always known this. This is partially why they have gone after her with all guns loaded. Now they have no more ammo and girlfriend snapped their guns in half as they were running away. :-D.

Yes, Indeed! Sarah Palin for president!
The current favourite to win the Republican nomination is Rick Perry with odds of 11/8,
That said, I know nothing about bookmaking....
I’m not a big gambler, so I probably expressed it incorrectly.
