Next month President Obama will give a speech that is expected to detail his plan for avoiding a double-dip recession. Details remain uncertain. But conservative columnist Ann Coulter says solving the jobs component of America’s economic problem could have an easy fix.

On Tuesday’s “The Kudlow Report” on CNBC, the author of “Demonic: How the Liberal Mob Is Endangering America” made her not-so-likely-to-happen recommendations.

Rush is definitely upper crust:

Rush Limbaugh was born into a prominent Missouri family, and raised in a town about thirty miles from the Kentucky border. His grandfather, the first Rush Hudson Limbaugh, was America’s Ambassador to India in the Eisenhower administration. His uncle, Stephen Limbaugh, was appointed federal judge by Ronald Reagan, and his cousin, Stephen Limbaugh Jr, was appointed to the U.S. District Court by George W. Bush. His father was a prominent local attorney, who imbued his children with conservative ideology. His brother, David Limbaugh, is a lawyer and conservative writer.

“Roll back 20 years of Federal and state regulations...”

Don’t stop at 20 years. Go all the way back before Nixon went crazy with regulations and agencies. That would be a good start.

IMHO...

Let’s also throw in end all affirmative action, private and government sector and abolish the EEOC and all laws that are related to it. And to convince the world that were were serious, lock this in by Amending the Constitution, clarifying a partial list of powers that the Federal government does not have which includes this topic. The Amendment should read “including but not limited to”, since the Constitution is clear that any power not mentioned is reserved by the States and then the People.

DID YOU KNOW...

That if a business has 15 or more employees they have to contend with EEOC compliance ?

And... that virtually ALL employers must comply with the Equal Pay Act, and may be sued under the Act without the plaintiff first filing an EEOC charge ?

Businesses need to be extremely careful when dealing with employees, and employees represent an enormous risk to small business due to all the laws that are in force at all levels of government.

Is it any wonder that new businesses are slow to form and find it very expensive to operate here ?

Due to the fluidity of the modern labor market, all of these laws could be replaced with this:

“If you don’t like your job, quit and get another one”.

Would everything be perfect ? No. But life isn’t perfect. And the upside: we’d have jobs being created gangbusters.

Excellent ideas from Ann, I concur with them. We are insane to pay for all these things people are to do for their self. We each must learn.

Where has good sense gone? We are doing stupid stuff. More every day. The evidence is there.

Since taxes have been used to discourage behavior deemed undesirable, why not tax the unemployed?

“Sounds like a plan to me! (As long as I don’t have to pay for unemployment insurance)”

That is the plan.

Or do you mean for yourself? Well, your risk.

To: Why So Serious

“Is she a trust fund baby? To hear her say it she came from upper-middle class”

Who cares, for the purpose of this argument? Maybe we should all think more like trust-funders, given how little we’vew profitted from the last century or so by ruling with our heads in the slums.

by the way, most of the world’s geniuses come from the middle classes. Or, rather, the geniuses who ever get to intellectually (through the arts, philosophy, science, etc.) benefit mankind. Those in the upper classes tend to waste their energies in practical, public effort or desuetude, and those in the lower classes lack proper instruction and leisure. Of course, when we talk about the upper classes, bear in mind I mean the titled aristocracy. Most trust fund babies count as middle classers.

Some people need to worry about how to improve themselves. Not worry that they don’t have what others have or whether the other person is going to fish or cut bait for you.

Guess she didn’t discuss this beforehand with His Immenseness, her hero. He wouldn’t agree. (And, actually, I don’t either. My issue isn’t with legal immigrants - its with illegals and the people who employ and exploit them.)
