Ron Paul attacked Rick Perry today in an ad juxtaposing photos of a young Paul and Ronald Reagan, with snap-shots of the GOP frontrunner, Perry, in his days as campaign manager for the noxious and obnoxious Al Gore.
As pictures of beloved American President Reagan flash across our screen, we hear:
The establishment called him extreme and unelectable. They said he was the wrong man for the job. Thats why a young Texan named Ron Paul was one of only four Congressmen to endorse Ronald Reagans campaign for President, believing in Reagans message of smaller government and lower taxes. Now America must choose who to trust; Al Gores Texas cheerleader, or the one who stood with Reagan.
Ronald Reagan himself was once a Democrat who, as he narrates in his glorious autobiography, An American Life, was slowly brought to a better understanding of the logic of conservative principles. This switching of parties was the subject of one of Reagans most endearing and enduring quips when he agreed with then White House Press correspondent, Sam Donaldson that he, Reagan, was indeed partially responsible for the economic woes of the Country since he had been, for many years a Democrat. (Not a bad book title for Perry, now that I come to think of it!)

What is it with Perry supporters that they are so worried about Ron Paul?
He’s a nut-case for goodness sake.
Ron Paul is a desperate fool..
Gee ya want to believe your crazy uncle, but the guy is nowheresville
Sounds like a bit of transference to me.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this article. I am actually not a Perry fan at all. I just find the Pauls to be so dishonest that I thought it note worthy to speak of this.
JP
he’s got a screw loose.
Sorry RuPaul. Your credibility on being a Reagan supporter is zero. The cat is out of the bag.

MR. RUSSERT: You're running as a Republican. In your--on your Web site, in your brochures, you make this claim: "Principled Leadership. Ron was also one of only four Republican Congressmen to endorse Ronald Reagan for president against Gerald Ford in" '76. There's a photograph of you, Ronald Reagan on the right, heralding your support of Ronald Reagan. And yet you divorced yourself from Ronald Reagan.
You said this: "Although he was once an ardent supporter of President Reagan, Paul now speaks of him as a traitor leading the country into debt and conflicts around the world."I want to totally disassociate myself from the Reagan Administration." And you go on to The Dallas Morning News: "Paul now calls Reagan a `dramatic failure.'"
Guess all those attacks on Perry posted in this forum came from Paul supporters. Perry supported Gore over 20 years ago. Saw the error of his ways and became a Republican. It was about that time I became a conservative Republican as well, because the Dems started going so far to the left. However, there were still some conservative Dems then. Perry has always been a conservative.
Ron, with all due respect:
Luv yer ideas but they are not workable in real life and age has taken its toll on your addled mind.
Enjoy your retirement and don’t forget to send postcards.
So Gore’s state campaign managers in Texas and Kansas were Rick Perry and Fred Phelps?
People forget that Jesse Jackson ran second behind Dukakis and over Gore. Jackson was doing very well in the winter/spring of 1988, especially because he said he knew who was smuggling in all the cocaine, heroin and pills, etc. Then he piped down and the dollars poured into his endeavours.
