If The Left Can Ruin Rick Perry, They Can Rule You
September 25, 2011 | Vanity

Posted on 09/25/2011 9:18:40 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

Only 4 things can be highlighted as “topic” designations for a thread post. I found it a hard choice because – business/economy, education, government, health/medicine, history, military, politics, religion, science and society all should be included.

It is being reported by environmentalists -- believers in a socialist “green” religion -- that their judgment and knowledge is being resisted by “unscientific, religious deniers” hell-bent on blocking their path. So the deniers need to be “identified” for the good of humankind. This is dangerous. This morning I posted an article that explores with alarm, how Global Warming Consensus is denied by conservatives – that their resistance is an ever growing problem stemming from the religious right in America. The American ‘Allergy’ to Global Warming: Why?

I posted it because Gov. Rick Perry was mentioned at the top of the article. And there is good reason why. Socialists around the world know that Rick Perry has been fighting them on the legal front, the education front, and the environmental front for years. Due to his past, he knows why and where they are determined to lead us. Why would Rick Perry feel so strongly about these issues and their connection to states' rights and free market capitalism? Why does the Left recognize the danger of a Rick Perry controlling the Bully Pulpit of the White House, his veto, his appointments?

Rick Perry grew up on a farm (I know he keeps telling us this but I think it is done for a reason). His mother sewed his clothes. They worked and went to church. Rick Perry was a Boy Scout, earning Eagle Scout rank (so has his son). Rick Perry was a member of the Future Farmers of America. He went to Texas A&M and was a member of the Corps. Rick Perry joined the Air Force, serving 5 years. He flew C-130s around the world before returning to West Texas and the family farm. He courted his future wife, taught Sunday school and worked the land with his father. And in time he went into state politics.

Rick Perry is a self made man. He was called one of the Pit-bulls in the Texas legislature because he was a Democrat member who sat in the lower pit of the House Appropriations Committee and bitterly fought spending increases. He is naturally a conservative. In 1989 he joined the Republican Party that had begun taking root in Texas as the Democratic Party ideology began moving left. Perry ran for the Agriculture Commission seat against leftist Jim Hightower and won. In 1998 Rick Perry ran for Lt. Gov. and won (he was the first Republican Lt. Gov. elected since Reconstruction).

When George W. Bush became president in 2000, Rick Perry became the governor of Texas. He has been reelected twice (the last time beating out Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, a candidate supported by the Bush family and Karl Rove in a primary challenge). When Gov. Rick Perry was elected in 2010 for his 3rd term, he was joined by a Republican super majority in the Texas legislature. Major legislation was passed and signed by Gov. Perry, including (after a 6 year struggle) Photo Voter ID and tighter controls over how money is spent. Perry's history of being attacked by the mainstream media is well known and his election was won without one endorsement by a mainstream media outlet.

Rick Perry has served twice as Chairman of the Republican Governor’s Association. The country has seen a rise in the number of conservative governors and state legislatures in recent elections. Rick Perry broke fundraising records for the RGA. And now Rick Perry is a candidate in the GOP Primary for President of the United States. He wants to lower taxes, return states' rights, repeal Obama care, and remove the regulations and laws that are strangling our economy, and get people back to work.

Currently, the Left is battling Gov. Rick Perry’s stand on Big Education (unions) and EPA Energy and Environment dictates. Trial lawyers have made it known they plan to block any more power going to Rick Perry, as he has won so many victories against them as the Gov. of Texas. The Left knows Rick Perry has his own religious beliefs and does not adhere to their pseudo green religion. They know he understands the land, that he was brought up in a religious home and has worked for everything he has. The Left knows he attended a school that didn’t teach him to hate his country but rather instilled love of country. They know he served in the military and still encourages boys to become Boy Scouts. The Left can not put the lie to the fact that Texas' economy is running rings around Obama's disastrous economic policies. The Left knows that when Rick Perry shows compassion – has a heart – it isn’t because he wants to make you dependent on him but rather to set you free.

If the Left can demonize Gov. Perry, a man who believes in standing with our allies, making government as inconsequential as possible in our lives and who holds firmly to his belief in American exceptionalism – if they can successfully define him as a rightwing religious dunce, while simultaneously encouraging people in the GOP Primary to lambast him as someone who isn’t conservative, then the Left will have won the ideological battle -- their war against capitalism will be complete and they will permanently Rule America.

It is the illegal children of illegals that is the issue.

My Post - Did “A Vast Left Wing Conspiracy” force Perry’s hand on in state tuition?

Your Response - I never said that.

From Your Article (A vanity? Written by you?) - if they can successfully define him as a rightwing religious dunce, while simultaneously encouraging people in the GOP Primary to lambast him as someone who isn’t conservative, then the Left will have won the ideological battle

Please notice, I've included several on both sides of the Perry nomination. I'm not out to pick on anyone.

The fact is, no candidate is going to be perfect. Right now Perry is moving himself from "not perfect but acceptable," into Mitt Romney-ville (Not Mitt, No Way, Never!).

Instead of trying to spin Perry's actions, perhaps you should contact his campaign head quarters and let him no how us unwashed plebes are reacting to his behavior.

You sure as hell ain't winning Perry any votes by accusing us of being undercover liberal agitators simply because we won't blindly follow your candidate off a cliff.

Ok, let try this another way.

Let us assume you all are right.

Perry is perfect, it is only us evil ones undermining him that are causing him to stumble. he done absolutely nothing to hurt himself.

Very well.

In that case, he is too political incompetent to be our nominee.

If he cannot handle the heat of the Primary any better then this then he is completely unready to face the much greater heat of a General Election campaign.

Like it or not, a lot of independent voter will decide who to vote for based on the Oct 2012 debates.

If Perry cannot do any better then he has in the last three debates, he is going to get slaughtered in the Oct 2012 debates.

Blaming everyone else for Perry's complete lack of competence as a campaigner is nonsense. Perry is doing in Perry.

The democrats have been left since WAY before 1989. What happened in 1989 that changed his mind? What way of thinking changed in him?

When H.W. Bush won in 88, he seemed to be moving the GOP to the left...just sayin'

It's not ‘now’. Those are things that have been talkied about on FR. I haven't wanted him since the beginning. Perhaps you need to speak to the wishy-washy ones who grab hold of the newest, shiniest thang that comes along.

Rewarding children of illegal immigrants is a giant magnet for more illegals to flood in. Perry is finished on my list.
I want every immigrant to go through the same hoops I had to go through to become a legal US Citizen.

Go Herman Cain!

News flash - the left will do this to ANY serious GOP candidate. It is not specific to Perry, as witnessed by the non-stop slime attacks against Palin for the last three years. And last I checked, there have been Perry supporters repeating some of those slime attacks in their zeal to bash Palin.

Your vanity would have more merit if it decried the widespread attacks on all conservatives, not just your guy currently hopping around on one foot from repeated self-inflicted gunshots into the other one.

You’re right—let’s forfeit. We don’t have a person available good enough. We can use what we would have spent on this election to spend on other more worthwhile pursuits.

Illegal children who have already gotten a free education up till the age of 18 thanks to the Supreme Court. But now State officials don’t think that’s enough and expect US citizens to cough up tax payer supported subsidized college tuition. Does it ever end?

My home page is empty and will remain as such. My time spent here is to support real conservatism and expose those in the GOP who want to maintain the status quo in Washington.

Your home page is not in order, citizen; you vill come with me! ;-)

Doesn't this home page check sound an awful lot like the Union "card check?"

We have a few hardened dupes for the Left parading as conservatives who will undoubtedly vote for Obama before they would vote for anyone other than Palin as the nominee. Nationally, however, voters clearly see that their numbers alone can’t Palin across the curb. There is a nation out there waiting on JOBS, not chills. Rick Perry sits on top of the goods and the facts on the ground and as I said, could pound these fiction flackers back into the Stone Age but isn’t. Something is up. He can win this thing or throw the game to Romney. Fire the team! Does he even HAVE a media guy?

You have made the mistake, or perhaps it is guilt sir/madam, of believing this essay was aimed at you, FReepers, anti-Perry posters, or anyone in between.

Sad to say, people don't usually read past the headline as they are totally self-absorbed and hopelessly inflicted with the unfortunate, knowledge gathering blocker of of immediately internalizing everything and shutting down.

However, as you will note, this was directed to no one but rather at the country as a whole.

Did the left make Rick Perry say he thought in state tuition for illegals was good and vital? Crap like that makes it very difficult for me to vote for him. I’ll be voting for Cain in the primaries. I won’t vote for Romney if he gets the nod (a socialist is a socialist regardless of the letter after their name) and if Perry keeps on that path he’s out too. If the R nominee can’t establish himself as actually better than the D there’s no reason for me to vote for him.
