If The Left Can Ruin Rick Perry, They Can Rule You
September 25, 2011 | Vanity

Posted on 09/25/2011 9:18:40 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

Only 4 things can be highlighted as “topic” designations for a thread post. I found it a hard choice because – business/economy, education, government, health/medicine, history, military, politics, religion, science and society all should be included.

It is being reported by environmentalists -- believers in a socialist “green” religion -- that their judgment and knowledge is being resisted by “unscientific, religious deniers” hell-bent on blocking their path. So the deniers need to be “identified” for the good of humankind. This is dangerous. This morning I posted an article that explores with alarm, how Global Warming Consensus is denied by conservatives – that their resistance is an ever growing problem stemming from the religious right in America. The American ‘Allergy’ to Global Warming: Why?

I posted it because Gov. Rick Perry was mentioned at the top of the article. And there is good reason why. Socialists around the world know that Rick Perry has been fighting them on the legal front, the education front, and the environmental front for years. Due to his past, he knows why and where they are determined to lead us. Why would Rick Perry feel so strongly about these issues and their connection to states' rights and free market capitalism? Why does the Left recognize the danger of a Rick Perry controlling the Bully Pulpit of the White House, his veto, his appointments?

Rick Perry grew up on a farm (I know he keeps telling us this but I think it is done for a reason). His mother sewed his clothes. They worked and went to church. Rick Perry was a Boy Scout, earning Eagle Scout rank (so has his son). Rick Perry was a member of the Future Farmers of America. He went to Texas A&M and was a member of the Corps. Rick Perry joined the Air Force, serving 5 years. He flew C-130s around the world before returning to West Texas and the family farm. He courted his future wife, taught Sunday school and worked the land with his father. And in time he went into state politics.

Rick Perry is a self made man. He was called one of the Pit-bulls in the Texas legislature because he was a Democrat member who sat in the lower pit of the House Appropriations Committee and bitterly fought spending increases. He is naturally a conservative. In 1989 he joined the Republican Party that had begun taking root in Texas as the Democratic Party ideology began moving left. Perry ran for the Agriculture Commission seat against leftist Jim Hightower and won. In 1998 Rick Perry ran for Lt. Gov. and won (he was the first Republican Lt. Gov. elected since Reconstruction).

When George W. Bush became president in 2000, Rick Perry became the governor of Texas. He has been reelected twice (the last time beating out Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, a candidate supported by the Bush family and Karl Rove in a primary challenge). When Gov. Rick Perry was elected in 2010 for his 3rd term, he was joined by a Republican super majority in the Texas legislature. Major legislation was passed and signed by Gov. Perry, including (after a 6 year struggle) Photo Voter ID and tighter controls over how money is spent. Perry's history of being attacked by the mainstream media is well known and his election was won without one endorsement by a mainstream media outlet.

Rick Perry has served twice as Chairman of the Republican Governor’s Association. The country has seen a rise in the number of conservative governors and state legislatures in recent elections. Rick Perry broke fundraising records for the RGA. And now Rick Perry is a candidate in the GOP Primary for President of the United States. He wants to lower taxes, return states' rights, repeal Obama care, and remove the regulations and laws that are strangling our economy, and get people back to work.

Currently, the Left is battling Gov. Rick Perry’s stand on Big Education (unions) and EPA Energy and Environment dictates. Trial lawyers have made it known they plan to block any more power going to Rick Perry, as he has won so many victories against them as the Gov. of Texas. The Left knows Rick Perry has his own religious beliefs and does not adhere to their pseudo green religion. They know he understands the land, that he was brought up in a religious home and has worked for everything he has. The Left knows he attended a school that didn’t teach him to hate his country but rather instilled love of country. They know he served in the military and still encourages boys to become Boy Scouts. The Left can not put the lie to the fact that Texas' economy is running rings around Obama's disastrous economic policies. The Left knows that when Rick Perry shows compassion – has a heart – it isn’t because he wants to make you dependent on him but rather to set you free.

If the Left can demonize Gov. Perry, a man who believes in standing with our allies, making government as inconsequential as possible in our lives and who holds firmly to his belief in American exceptionalism – if they can successfully define him as a rightwing religious dunce, while simultaneously encouraging people in the GOP Primary to lambast him as someone who isn’t conservative, then the Left will have won the ideological battle -- their war against capitalism will be complete and they will permanently Rule America.

"The Left does not have to demonize Rick Perry; he did that to himself. Most of the time when an arrogant lifer politician looks straight into the camera and tells me that I am basically a jerk because I don't agree with his position, that's usually a Democrat. This time it is a Republican. And as far as I am concerned Governor Perry can stay in Texas and keep spending Texas money to subsidize his favorite illegal aliens through college."

Right on! The crony doubled down and defended his horrible policies, insulted conservative voters and they rejected them and him. True conservatives don't want you Rick Perry. We don't want you. We don't like you. We don't like your kind. That it.

He actually had a chance to convince conservative voters that he really does believe as we do; that yes, illegal immigration is a national scourge, but that he's had to handle it differently as a Governor, than he would as a president.

Gov Perry made it quite clear that this was a Texas STATE decision that was passed nearly unanimously by the Texas legislature and he repeated it again for clarity on Sean Hannity's show the next day.

You refuse to acknowledge his position on sealing the border, relying on straw men arguments to bolster your claims.

No one comes on a thread like you have on this one, who is not campaigning for another candidate.

What candidate threads do you post to?

Knock it off. I'm not an anti-Perry troll. I'm merely commenting on a red hot issue of the Republican primary.

Perry is my Governor. I've voted for him twice, but he is not the sort of Reagan conservative that this country needs in a president at this critical time. End of story.

Support him, warts and all, if you like. That's your choice. I don't support him for president, but I also don't have the time, the energy, nor the inclination to hop onto every Perry thread making a case against him.

I've said my piece.

Well it seems that everyone wants their candidate only despite saying otherwise. I’ve seen a lot of Perry people attacking everyone else over the past month. Lots of people attacked Bachmann, Palin and others on here when Perry seemed to be leading. So the level of discourse was never that great.

Have I?

You're just being silly and defensive now. I'm not the only person saying what I'm saying about Perry's defense of illegals. 95% of the comments on this thread are voicing the same objections that I have (to Perry's comments, and your spin).

You're telling me that we're all anti-Perry bots because because we aren't all Perry supporters? Come on....that's just juvenile.

Listen.....when you can find in my posting history that I've jumped on nearly every Perry thread posted in the last month, and posted scathing comments about him (and his supporters), then you can honestly call me a troll. Good luck.

I've only been talking to you. Don't try to make this a "if she says it to me, she's saying it to everyone" deal. I didn't ping you and "All." I was talking to you.

I wasn't calling you a troll. If I had you would have known. I wanted to know which candidate threads you do post to in order to have an idea about who you will support. Since you refuse to say.

Then you finally managed to find one name, didn’t you? Which shows you’re quite capable of providing the evidence that was asked for.

So do it.

Like I said in other post, in-state tuition to the children of illegals is not the largest monetary issue for illegals.

But please do not ask for evidence for obvious things. No evidence is required for commonsense items. No evidence is needed to prove one looks for food when hungry. OK, may be some one is doing university level research to prove that, but you get my point.

Every benefit, large or small is a magnet for illegals. Including free maternity care, free emergency hospital care, free K-12 education for children of illegals, food stamps, and yes in-state tuition in university of Texas.

What a misleading title. The left didn’t ruin Rick Perry.

IF IF IF ......the Left Can Ruin....

Are you finally admitting that Perry is the one that "ruined" Perry?

I’ve seen a lot of Perry people attacking everyone else over the past month.

Did you see the thread about Perry's tour bus? Within (IIRC) the first ten, someone posted a slam on Palin's tour bus.

When you feel the need for (poorly executed) cheap shots on a thread about your candidate's tour bus, you may have already lost the argument.

"Pelham hasn't created an about page."

Pelham. You've been here since before the turn of the century. Has there ever been a mandate to create an "about" page?

McGavin999. Do you really think Pelham is a Undercover Lib?

Granted I've seen more than a few "paleos" who clearly push the progressive line (Willie Green, Dane, etc...), but I've not noticed Pelham behaving that way.

I don’t recall that one, but obviously the Perry people feel like they have been unjustly attacked by the anti-Perry people and I think they are lashing out at them blindly. It’s especially annoying since it seems a large number of the anti-Perrys don’t support (at least overtly) ANY candidate, but are only naysayers.

It is often forgotten this is a pro-Palin website, and therefore Palin supporters are given a lot more slack than say a pro-Perry supporter would be. That’s the rules of the road.

Nope, Pelham just demanded I furnish proof that there were people posting without an about page. I already told him those I had previously noted had immediately change and he still demanded I provide proof. I did LOL!
