If The Left Can Ruin Rick Perry, They Can Rule You
September 25, 2011 | Vanity

Posted on 09/25/2011 9:18:40 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

Only 4 things can be highlighted as “topic” designations for a thread post. I found it a hard choice because – business/economy, education, government, health/medicine, history, military, politics, religion, science and society all should be included.

It is being reported by environmentalists -- believers in a socialist “green” religion -- that their judgment and knowledge is being resisted by “unscientific, religious deniers” hell-bent on blocking their path. So the deniers need to be “identified” for the good of humankind. This is dangerous. This morning I posted an article that explores with alarm, how Global Warming Consensus is denied by conservatives – that their resistance is an ever growing problem stemming from the religious right in America. The American ‘Allergy’ to Global Warming: Why?

I posted it because Gov. Rick Perry was mentioned at the top of the article. And there is good reason why. Socialists around the world know that Rick Perry has been fighting them on the legal front, the education front, and the environmental front for years. Due to his past, he knows why and where they are determined to lead us. Why would Rick Perry feel so strongly about these issues and their connection to states' rights and free market capitalism? Why does the Left recognize the danger of a Rick Perry controlling the Bully Pulpit of the White House, his veto, his appointments?

Rick Perry grew up on a farm (I know he keeps telling us this but I think it is done for a reason). His mother sewed his clothes. They worked and went to church. Rick Perry was a Boy Scout, earning Eagle Scout rank (so has his son). Rick Perry was a member of the Future Farmers of America. He went to Texas A&M and was a member of the Corps. Rick Perry joined the Air Force, serving 5 years. He flew C-130s around the world before returning to West Texas and the family farm. He courted his future wife, taught Sunday school and worked the land with his father. And in time he went into state politics.

Rick Perry is a self made man. He was called one of the Pit-bulls in the Texas legislature because he was a Democrat member who sat in the lower pit of the House Appropriations Committee and bitterly fought spending increases. He is naturally a conservative. In 1989 he joined the Republican Party that had begun taking root in Texas as the Democratic Party ideology began moving left. Perry ran for the Agriculture Commission seat against leftist Jim Hightower and won. In 1998 Rick Perry ran for Lt. Gov. and won (he was the first Republican Lt. Gov. elected since Reconstruction).

When George W. Bush became president in 2000, Rick Perry became the governor of Texas. He has been reelected twice (the last time beating out Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, a candidate supported by the Bush family and Karl Rove in a primary challenge). When Gov. Rick Perry was elected in 2010 for his 3rd term, he was joined by a Republican super majority in the Texas legislature. Major legislation was passed and signed by Gov. Perry, including (after a 6 year struggle) Photo Voter ID and tighter controls over how money is spent. Perry's history of being attacked by the mainstream media is well known and his election was won without one endorsement by a mainstream media outlet.

Rick Perry has served twice as Chairman of the Republican Governor’s Association. The country has seen a rise in the number of conservative governors and state legislatures in recent elections. Rick Perry broke fundraising records for the RGA. And now Rick Perry is a candidate in the GOP Primary for President of the United States. He wants to lower taxes, return states' rights, repeal Obama care, and remove the regulations and laws that are strangling our economy, and get people back to work.

Currently, the Left is battling Gov. Rick Perry’s stand on Big Education (unions) and EPA Energy and Environment dictates. Trial lawyers have made it known they plan to block any more power going to Rick Perry, as he has won so many victories against them as the Gov. of Texas. The Left knows Rick Perry has his own religious beliefs and does not adhere to their pseudo green religion. They know he understands the land, that he was brought up in a religious home and has worked for everything he has. The Left knows he attended a school that didn’t teach him to hate his country but rather instilled love of country. They know he served in the military and still encourages boys to become Boy Scouts. The Left can not put the lie to the fact that Texas' economy is running rings around Obama's disastrous economic policies. The Left knows that when Rick Perry shows compassion – has a heart – it isn’t because he wants to make you dependent on him but rather to set you free.

If the Left can demonize Gov. Perry, a man who believes in standing with our allies, making government as inconsequential as possible in our lives and who holds firmly to his belief in American exceptionalism – if they can successfully define him as a rightwing religious dunce, while simultaneously encouraging people in the GOP Primary to lambast him as someone who isn’t conservative, then the Left will have won the ideological battle -- their war against capitalism will be complete and they will permanently Rule America.

I’ve been saying the exact same thing about Sarah Palin since 2008. It’s true that if we let the media destroy whomever they wish, we’ll always get Bob Doles, John McCains and Myth Romneys for candidates.

Too many people would rather be fashionable than correct.

I don’t watch SNL or frankly any of the legacy liberal television networks.

Therefore I have no idea what you are talking about.

I do know, if the legacy liberal media has turned on Cain, that’s a great indication I should be supporting Cain.

Which, incidentally. I am. :D

Do your own research. Everyone else has without once whining that I should do it for them. It’s really simple, even you can do it.

Obviously you didn’t watch either of the last two debates...Perry is toast and he did it to himself.

Do not be discouraged. Many are foolishly announcing the death of the Perry campaign.

No one ruined Rick Perry. Perry took one for the team. He took Mitt out with him.

Herman Cain will not get the nomination. But he will get asked to be VP.

Question is, who’s VP?

I don’t watch SNL, I was going to bed and it was the opening skit. I decided to see how bad it was going to be. I never thought they would actually do a racist sterotypical skit on Cain. But I should have know Lefties are the biggest RACIST of all.

Another clueless establishment supporter.

You are now attcking the very people who want conservative change in Government.

We are the Tea Party movement.

Many of us are sick and tired of having these crap candidates thrown in o ur face and told to vote for them. These days are over. Done. We are speaking out now because our countrys very survival is at stake. If we are unsuccessful and let another rino/establishment republican get elected we are doomed as a Party and as a nation.

You can sugar coat oerry or romneys record all you want but we really know what they are up to and who they really stand with and they don’t stand with conservatives.

Perry's action on immunizations and immigration are concerns I've had for a while. But the statement that really blips my radar is this:

In 1989 he joined the Republican Party that had begun taking root in Texas as the Democratic Party ideology began moving left.

The democrats have been left since WAY before 1989. What happened in 1989 that changed his mind? What way of thinking changed in him?

Why would Cain not be nominee.

We are watching an honest contest. Best candidate win.

At the moment, Cain appears to be the best candidate.

He just may, be our nominee - and I’m rather happy about that prospect.

:D

The Perry-haters are going to spew their talking points all over any pro-Perry thread.

Spoken like a true left wing liberal democrat. We have legitimate disagreements with SOME of Perry's positions on issues, therefore we HATE Perry.

And you were lamenting the level of discourse on FR????

I've talked to many TX freepers and others who can't stand Perry over immigration too. Perry destroyed himself, it is that simple. Don't let the haters etc FFS

If you thought that, so did many other people.

The left is no longer setting the message.

The more they continue to act as if they do, the more people find their arrogance revolting.

Don’t be discouraged. Even by Obama’s win in 2008. I continue to believe Obama did not win...

McCain lost.

You know Rick W. Perrybush could always push for secession again and be "voted" in as POT (President of Texas). He'd be able to separate himself from the heartless Americans and won't even have to worry about such a thing as in-state tuition or words like illegal. Plus, he can dream about being appointed Supreme Ruler of The North American Continent.

agreed and the last election was the same.

Perry blew it, I was a neutral, got on the Perry bandwagon as Rick S was not getting traction and MB was prone to blunders but Perry pissed me off that he stuck wit his stance and then said if we don’t agree with illegals we’re haters

There is an epidemic in America which started form the left and now getting on the right and that is if you do not agree with me I’ll call you a name.

Speak up because enjoy your posts

I hate to point this out to you, but you made the claim first about Home Pages back in #38. The burden is upon you, not cripplecreek, to prove your statement. If I were him, I wouldn't lift a finger to help you.

And CC does not need me to defend him.
