sorry. i disagree.

i was impressed with rick perry for his ability to take on obama.

but he’s falling fast.

not due to liberals, but due to his own inability to claim the position we conservatives gave him too soon.

i like herman cain. he’s honest.

If The Left Can Ruin Rick Perry, They Can Rule You

Did the left force Rick Perry to impugn anti-illegal-immigration conservatives as heartless?

Quit blaming everyone but Perry for Perry's own failings. My main concern with Perry was on illegal immigration - he is a mixed bag. His heartless comment in turn showed where his heart is - and it is not a good location AFAIC. And IMO it shows he will pursue a compassionate conservative path on this matter, and that is the opposite of what I wanted to hear from him to show he understands the transition needed from border governor to presidential contender.

I haven't written him off, but he has a tough road for a comeback. And he paved that road himself with his own compassionate intentions.

Have any of you noticed that a lot the people posting on these threads have not created an "about" page? No state listed, no information just slamming Perry and claiming it's because of the in-state tuition.

No mention of the fact that Texas has a voter ID requirement to keep illegals from voting, in-state tuition is not free tuition, that many of the states have the same thing.

People are being led around by the nose.

I really hate unfair attacks on anyone. I haven't decided who I am voting for, but I've been around this site long enough to know when we are being led around by the DNC.

sorry but as a legal immigrant and now proud American I have lost my desire to vote for Perry after his instate tuition, his comments that we’re haters.

The left neevr destroyed him , he did it to himself.

I’m witcha! The Gardasil matter and the state tuition thang have been known to us for months, so why now? Haven’t you people been paying attention? Or, as I suspect, someone else has to point things out to you, to make them “important”, that someone else are the Lefties in the media and the half-witted Bachmann woman?

I’m not Perrybot, just disgusted by the ease with which so-called conservatives are letting themselves be manipulated.

Excellent essay. I have no problem with strong disagreement here, but conservatives should never, ever join hands with the MSM and Democrats against a Republican they don’t like. Never.

The left did not destroy R Perry. He did himself in by being himself. And I live in TX and am not for Ron Paul or Mitt.

Rick Perry would be best served by publicly backing off his illegal alien coddling.

And you would be best served, by acquiring a hobby.

Posting Perry propaganda is no way to go through life, Ma’am.

How did the left ruin Perry?

Did MoveOn secretly advise him to call 95% of Republicans “heartless?”

Dumb post.

I know what you mean. People all over the Cain win. Then in a few short hours, SNL was ridiculing him and making him look ignorant and jingoisdtic.

I am ashamed of the supposed conservatives, they have taken up the tactics of the moveon.orgs and other Soros funded propaganda machines.
I can believe that some of us have to constantly give “conservs” a geography lesson about the Texas Border. there is absolutely NO criticism of the Obama Administration re border security.
The BIG issue is whether Mx kids get tuition after graduating from a Texas School.
(Determining Residency
When students apply for admission, the university uses information they provide on their ApplyTexas applications to make an initial determination about residency. If the submitted information indicates that the student isn’t a U.S. citizen or permanent resident but that he or she may qualify for residency based on Texas high school graduation, the student will be prompted by the ApplyTexas application to download and submit the Residency Affidavit.”

Frankly in an election where getting the current resident out is critical to the survival of the Nation. I find this juvenile back and forth disturbing.

The Dummies and their fellow travelers are sitting back laughing watching the msm and the candidates destroy each other.
And FOX is the LEAD. all Fox wants is a day of stories, which they got.
When Zero wins his 4 more years I hope all the idiots will enjoy their new ruler, especially on the UE line.

I’ve been saying the exact same thing about Sarah Palin since 2008. It’s true that if we let the media destroy whomever they wish, we’ll always get Bob Doles, John McCains and Myth Romneys for candidates.

Too many people would rather be fashionable than correct.

Perry's action on immunizations and immigration are concerns I've had for a while. But the statement that really blips my radar is this:

In 1989 he joined the Republican Party that had begun taking root in Texas as the Democratic Party ideology began moving left.

The democrats have been left since WAY before 1989. What happened in 1989 that changed his mind? What way of thinking changed in him?

There’s actually a lot I DO like about Rick Perry, but it is difficult to get past that gratuitous “heartless” remark. You really have to wonder: what WAS he thinking?
I’m tempted to think perhaps he was attempting a Churchillian Moment that failed spectacularly. “If you’re not a liberal when you’re 25....”

Apparently no one paid the least attention to that part of his response as to what he/the State of TX has done to staunch the flow of illegals in the face of the failure of the federal government to do anything. That’s just how things play out on the big stage.

Nonetheless, he has dug a big hole for himself and his campaign to dig out of. Not insurmountable, but awfully big. And they have to come up with the acceptable response awfully fast.
