Obama would not have withstood scrutiny in any society with a healthy, skeptical press. Yet, like the high-rolling Wall Street moneybags, they failed to do due diligence.
Three years on, nothing has changed. Obama is proposing to raise taxes because of some cockamamie yarn Warren Buffett has been peddling about his allegedly overtaxed secretary. Yet the court eunuchs of the media persist in taking Buffett seriously as a archetypal exemplar of the "American business community" rather than as an especially well-connected crony.
Sometimes, Obama cronyism is merely fiscally wasteful, as in the still underreported Solyndra "green jobs" scandal. One sympathizes with reporters assigned to the story: It's hard to get all the public monies and Solyndra-exec White House visit logs lined up in digestible form for the casual reader.
But sometimes Obama cronyism is murderous: Eric Holder, a man unfit to be attorney general of the United States, continues to stonewall the "Fast and Furious" investigation into taxpayer-funded government gun-running to Mexican drug cartels.

It is an American tragedy that the first black President is such a disaster. All the racists, overt and secret, are smirking and thinking what do you expect when you elect one of them?
Steyn, along with Sowell, is a must read for every conservative. A rare brilliance that often hides behind his distinctly dry sense of humor.
However, I was a bit disappointed he did not include an uneducated electorate in this quote as he often, correctly, points out.

Exactly right. But what people should be thinking is, “We elected a leftist—what do you expect when you elect one of THEM?”
I thought that Bill Clinton was the first “Black POTUS” — I believe he was crowned as such by the liberals. Obama is the first Kenyan/Muslim/Marxist POTUS. We got three losers for the price of one and he's done very REAL damage to America as a result.
And this tragedy was authored by the imbeciles on the left by selecting an outrageously unqualified person and compounding the situation by portraying him as a "mainstream" individual, instead of the most radical leftist to ever seek the presidency.
His is the story of affirmative action, writ large. He was doomed to failure from the very beginning.
Racists will hate no matter what. They hate themselves so they tear down others. This applies to the race-baiters such as Sharpton and Jackson too.
They are ignorant and don’t deserve 1/10th of the attention we give them.
They still are not exercising due dilligance because no one has demonstrated that he meets the qualifications to serve as President. No one in authority, has called him to prove that he is elgible. It is a national disgrace.
