PhD dad lives in a car (down by the river?—no, that was a van) doing what he loves? What does he love doing? I’m guessing it’s not productive.

Shame about her MA mom. Of course, if she knew the law’s of supply and demand and what Bwaney Fwank did with Fannie Mae, maybe she’d go occupy his office.

How a 27-year old can rack up that kind of debt—educational or otherwise is beyond me.

You must not have checked the price of liberal arts colleges lately. The ANNUAL cost of attendance at my alma mater: $56,400.

That last one pic...”knowledge should be free”...really tics me off! Listen up you snotty byotch, knowledge IS free! Learn it your own dam self in the school of hard knocks! IGNORANCE on the other hand is far from free and you are paying dearly. dumshit.

Agreed. The production of the envious continues. My daughter just began college in engineering. She finally sees it now. Maybe 10% of the students are on a professional track. Academic competence and wasteful majors precludes many of the rest from ever attaining a meaningful career. All of these students in four years will be at least 100K in debt. A common theme is being taught to these kids. A theme based in envy, cynicism, and entitlement.

This bubble is going to burst. Like every bubble this will be as ugly or worse.

Dear 99ers,
Set aside the pride.
Do the work for any price.
Live on beans, mac’n’cheese and rice.
Live the simplicity
you say life should be
and you’ll get by.

The real joke is these kids spend 200 grand getting a useless degree from a “name” university and now they’re realizing the reality of the higher education swindle.

I think in this group’s definition, the 99% they refer to is a class warfare game. The richest 1% versus the rest of us(sic).

I think I’ll take the 1% group’s side, they obviously seem to be doing something right.

They should be called the 99% WHINERS!

What a bunch of “poor me” jerks. Did someone put a gun to their head and tell them to borrow thousands of dollars to get a degree in Left Handed Lesbian Studies?

And now it’s our fault they couldn’t find a job?

These whiney punks can drop dead for all I care.

Are there now any doubts that America is history with these people about to take charge of it? Even more puzzling, they blame all the corporations for why they have no jobs and trumpet Government as the cure, when in all reality, it is Government that has suppressed Corporations and business into cutting employment back because of extreme regulation, taxes and the high cost of labor.

Really, this is the sole reason we have a Marxist like Obama in the White House. Will America correct this mistake? Probably not, looking at the polls and seeing Obama still ahead of all challengers.

I truly hope this is not true and we will all see in November 2012.

My father never finished the 5th grade. His father was a share cropper in S.C. He enlisted in the Army in 1939 and did not come home permanently until right before I was born in 1950. Soon there after - Korea - then Aniwitok, then Okinawa. He was headed to Vietnam until my mother wrote her Congressman. After that he retired; he never got promoted after the ‘letter’. He died while I was overseas in 1971.

The house I lived in until I was 6 years old was my grandfather’s. It had water from a well, and electricity and a coal stove - outhouse out back. I took baths in a big galvanized tub with water heated on the stove.

In 68 I was drafted and was able to enlist in the AF because of test scores. Spent 8 years, 7 overseas, and got out and went to college on GI Bill. Never was on EBT, AFDC, SCHIP, EITC, or unemployement - ever.

In the years since, I married, 2 children, three grand daughters. I completely own everything I have and owe no one. I saved money, and I have a retirement fund separate from social security.

A liberal is the lowest form of life on this planet. I’m a FReeper, too.

The fact that they even call themselves 99%ers is proof they are math illiterate dumshits. 99% of americans do not dig themselves into such a hopeless hole as these fools have done.

Here’s my story:

I started working at age 10 doing two paper routes, mowing lawns, shoveling snow(no snow blower) and raking leaves. By the age of 11 I had started my own small pet breeding venture in my parents basement. I bred hamsters and gerbils. My dad bookmarked a section in a highschool biology text on recessive traits and I read it. He showed me how to keep reccords and breed for white hamsters to get more money. I started doing my paper routes on a 50cc motorcycle.

By the age of 16 I had quit all that but had saved up a ton of money due to jimmy carter’s 15% interest rates. I was now working 35 hours a week as a dishwasher WHILE IN HIGHSCHOOL. At 17 I was promoted to assistant pastery chef at a fancy buffet style restaurant.

By 18 I had rebuilt a car engine myself, from scratch, rebuilt two motorcycles, and tracked down wiring snafus inside a dashboard of a sixties model chrysler, and rebuilt a pickup engine for my dad...all while going to highschool and working 35 hours a week as an assistant pastery chef.

I never went to prom. I never had a girlfriend until I was 21 years old. I never joined a fraternity and refused to live in a dorm, never went on a spring break trip, and never participated in any highschool sports or any highschool extra curricular activities of any kind. Half my highschool graduating class had no idea who I was.

I started college the summer after graduation and passed out of 3 math classes and two english classes, two chemistry classes, and two physics classes. I decided on an engineering mechanics degree, then switched to mechanical engineering, then to civil engineering and finally got a degree in civil engineering. I went part time while working nights unloading semi trucks and paid my own tuition as I went. sometimes I had to take a semester off and work two jobs when I ran low on cash. It took me twice as long to finish college. Then I bought a cheap run down house and went to grad school for structural engineering while working as a research assistant...and also fixed up the run down house.

The whole time I never had a car worth more than 3grand and never had nice clothes and never ate at a restaurant that wasn’t fast food and never had a credit card or ATM card. I did go to bars on the weekends and I used to sneak my own beer into the bar to save money. sometimes I got caught and got thrown out.

The time is NOW to move to a safe corner of the CW2 cube. Don't be stranded.

I cannot do that. I have a great job inside the perimeter, and it's too good to lose. I do, however, have a glock with a lot of magazines, a few thousand rounds to feed her, and a sturdy vehicle. I'll get outta dodge when it's time.

"My mother (M.A.) is upside down on her house. ...

Note that all she is is "upside down" which simply means that under current market conditions the lady owes more than the house is worth. SO WHAT?

I owe more than my house is worth but it does not bother me at all since I plan to live here for at least another 10 years. So long as you can pay your expense on the house, being "upside down" is meaningless.

HOWEVER, if she told her jobless, tattooed and pierced daughter that she could not take out a loan on the house to support another year of the daughter's 'education', well that certainly is a tragedy! /SARC

We’re there, my friend. Been there for a while now. And yes, that is a sentiment we’ve heard before. Uusually originating from will-to-power driven monsters with mass murder on their minds. Passed down as propaganda to the useful fools whose primary function is that of cannon fodder and bullet traps.

My thought is why should we surrender? IMHO, if there is a CW2, it will be a cold war, not a hot war, and it will be a war of capitulation. Who will be willing to give up. Give up their freedom, give up their choice of where they live, etc. Moving to avoid it is letting them win. We win by standing and saying no. (or as William F Buclkey put it- STOP).
