Romney has had a big boost from the Republican establishment, which decided a while back he's the serious candidate with a chance of beating President Obama.
The establishment also decided that upending Texas Gov. Rick Perry's chances is the best way to ensure a Romney victory, since none of the other candidates in the race are very serious and the establishment utterly failed in coaxing NJ Gov. Chris Christie into the race.
Cain and Romney are also buddies. Cain endorsed Romney last time around and Romney finds various ways to praise Cain, even going so far as telling a NH crowd the other day that they could feel comfortable voting for him OR Cain.
Cain is in a position to play kingmaker, throwing his support to Romney at a critical juncture and putting him over the top, especially if the lower level right-wingers (Bachmann, Santorum) continue to hang around and leech out some of Perry's Tea Party support.
When you put all these factors in with Republicans' traditional habit of putting in the candidate they consider most electable, even if they're not thrilled about him, a la John McCain, it’s very difficult to see how Romney doesn't win the nomination.

I can’t imagine why Cain would have been endorsing anybody “last time around”.. Not many people had even heard of Cain back then.
Good analysis? This may well be the stupidest article in the history of the internet. This article holds more BS than WJC’s wedding vows.
Obamney needs to be defeated early in the primaries.
Romney agrees with Obama on:
1. Global warming.
2. Obamney care.
3. Elitism. Both Harvard people.
4. Questionable theology.
5. Abortion. But of course that changes from day to day.
6. Gun control. But that too changes from day to day.
7. Bank bailouts.
8. They both know Obama will take him out in a debate.
Romney will never never carry the south. The middle ground will be taken away after the liberal media shows his flip flops and the “nuances” of Mormonism.
But, If Romney gets the nomination it will be the first time we have a guy running that thinks he is going to be a God versus one that already thinks he is one.
This heartless conservative who lives in Texas is through with RINO candidates.
The MSM is simply ignoring Cain. They are attacking Perry and annointing Romney. They are selecting our candidate again.....remember McCain????? The best opportunities for conservatives are being dderailed by the left. What a shame.

I've always said "the establishment" is whoever is against your candidate. "The establishment" comes and goes.
Some of we political types actually talk about this. We're trying to figure out if we're the hated "establishment" or the beloved "grassroots". We didn't know. I even asked a friend who is on our SCC if he is one of those "establishment" types I'm supposed to hate.
I'm confused.

I've been saying for a long time that Cain is in this for Romney and nothing has happened to change my mind.
