This past Saturday afternoon, I had the “pleasure” of attending one of the rarest of political events: A Barney Frank Town Hall meeting in New Bedford, Massachusetts. This was his first town hall meeting since the debacle where he compared his 2010 Democrat challenger, Rachel Brown, to a dining room table.
While the focus of this town hall meeting was to educate his constituents on his desire to slash military funding in order to expand social programs, the best sound bite I caught came from a woman who asked Congressman Frank about the costs of illegal immigrants on society.
I was expecting a well-rehearsed and nauseatingly politically correct response; however, when Frank went on to tell the woman that illegal immigrants who commit Social Security and identity fraud (both felonies) actually help out the Social Security program (because their fraud makes them pay into the system, but they’re not eligible to collect) my jaw almost hit the floor…

The shocking thing to me is that there are people anywhere who lend ANY credibility to what BF says. The people in his district must be among the stupidest on Earth.

Then it’s a failed program if it needs illegals to work. It doesn’t matter though, because we pay for the illegals to live here.
There is no such thing as “paying into Social Security” it is nothing more than an additional federal tax that all goes into the same general tax fund. No separate “lock box”.
It is somewhat scarey that the bozos writing these laws don’t understand what they are doing.
But nobody should be surprised that Barney is all for criminal activity... One homosexual "partner" of his ran a prostitution ring out of Barney's apartment. And another of his homosexual "partners" was deeply involved in the housing fraud of Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac while Barney covered for him.

Well, I am no fan of Frank and this is a stupid way to fund social security. Still, how can anyone argue that people paying in who will never collect help fund social security.
Of course Frank will want to legalize these people and ex-post award them benefits. So if Frank had his way, what he said would be false. But if he does not have his way, he is right.
I estimated it to be $10 billion a year several years ago.

How will it happen (e.g., illegals getting SS)? Betcha some Federal judge decrees it.
Aren’t we forgetting the deal the Bush Administration made with Mexico to return unclaimable SS payments to Mexico?

No they're not. Sometimes in this discussion we forget that around 1.2 million legal immigrants are allowed into the US each year.
We have bilateral agreements with these nations, too.
Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
