Feds Step in to Help Gifted Science, Tech, and Math Students
U.S. Trade & Aid Monitor ^ | Oct. 19, 2011 | Steve Peacock

Posted on 10/19/2011 4:37:53 PM PDT by Steve Peacock

Having recognized “the importance of building a strong human resource capital base of Science, Technology and Mathematics (STM) professionals for a country’s ability to compete globally,” the U.S. government is taking action… in Egypt. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) therefore is seeking bids from private contractors to provide technical assistance to the Egyptian Ministry of Education, which last month opened its first STM specialty school.

The government of Egypt is looking to build more of such schools for its gifted students—and U.S. taxpayers will bear the cost of helping it “strengthen the quality and management” of the new institution as well as replicating “this type of specialized education in other parts of Egypt,” according to a solicitation (#263-12-0001) posted today to the FedBizOpps database.

As U.S. Trade & Aid Monitor recently reported, USAID separately is weighing the possibility of financing the creation of nationwide community college system in Egypt. (Monitor, Sept. 19, 2011)

This is a great idea. I for one would like to introduce them to Greener technologies, so their attacks on America and American citizens are more environmentally friendly.

Isn’t this just marvelous. We are providing great information to the gifted children of another country while our own kids are seeing gay plays and learning about global warming. I wonder if these little gifted children don’t use their U.S. taxpayer funded learning to build some really wonderful bombs or bio-weapons to kill us all.

This is probably an important part of Obama’s “Muslims in Space” program.

I wonder how long until the gifted that are born in this country end up leaving and going to other countries that welcome them with open arms and create superpowers while the US declines on a constant basis.

You are right. What infuriates me about this whole thing is that there are a lot of kids with high I.Q.’s American kids that would benefit our Country if accelerated. What about them? Oh, that’s right... it isn’t “fair” that our country focuses on our future.

“Feds Step in to Help Gifted Science, Tech, and Math Students... apply for food stamps”

Sorry, saw the headline and couldn’t stop myself.

Kind of like an intellectual/academic form of Communism; from each brainy kid, to each stupid kid. All we need right now is for just one gifted kid to go to another country right now and make a huge difference, in one profession, and then America will lose it’s status because we refused to help that one special kid.

It makes a lot of sense; the gifted are expected to fend for themselves while the idiots and self destructive get all the help in the world. I mean, we live in a country that gives free EVERYTHING to a woman who pops out one litter after another, but responsible people can only have one or two kids, three maximum because they have to pay taxes to support the fat checks that go to ghetto mothers.
