The Washington Post released on its website yesterday afternoon an article by Manuel Roig-Franzia that has to rank as one of the more disgraceful pieces of personal hit journalism in memoryalleging that Florida Sen. Marco Rubio embellished the facts surrounding the departure of his parents from Cuba. You can judge for yourself by the piece itself and the devastating takedown of it by the Miami Heralds Marc Caputo. I just want to offer a few thoughts, based on years working in newsrooms, of how a piece like Roig-Franzias comes to be and why it is usually published even when it fails to make its own case.
The Post article is, in one respect, the result of classic reportorial cynicism. A politician gets popular and tells a self-made story and seems unimpeachable as a result and somebody is just desperate to bring him down a peg. That can be the reporter who does it, or the source who feeds him the idea. Given that Rubio is a conservative Republican Hispanic, the fact that he has dodged the bullet of being given the traitor-to-his-own-people-by-being-right-wing treatment through the modality of a journalistic assault until now is actually remarkable.

The WaPo is nothing more than a hitman for the left.
As Rubio’s star rises in the conservative movement, liberal hacks will search every nook and cranny of his private and public life to dig up something...anything to derail that train. Liberals and Hispanic grievance-mongers cannot stand the idea of any American who is not a person of European anglo-white ancestry (even though Rubio could fall in that category) not identifying with ethnic-group politics and the liberal-socialist dream. Rubio, as a Hispanic-American, is supposed to resent America and demand “social justice” i.e. some sort of special ethnic favor. He is not supposed to love his country.
Hit pieces against successful conservative politicians are the coin of the realm. Hussein’s cult will NEVER be investigated...the leaders, followers, and priests therein are all part of the mainstream media.
Even the south Florida media—tv, news rags (usually blatant tabloids that carry strip club and massage parlor ads), and fake newspapers have been joining in on the “bash Rubio” meme. They aren’t thinkers, they’re FOLLOWERS of the Hussein cult in D.C.
Exactly: Hussein and his lies are NEVER reported. I say it has to do with his: party and race. Who knows which is first?
I think no matter the race, liberal media will cover for a liberal politician. So the fact Hussein is half-black is just another “cover”.
The media was pulled into the Clinton story—they ignored it until it became too big to ignore.
Add a touch of Elian Gonzales by Clinton and Reno.

Nobody is objective, and those who claim actually to be - not just strive to be but actually to be - objective are the most tendentious of all.The wire service business model of journalism requires all journalists to claim that all journalists are objective - so all journalists are highly tendentious.
Journalism and Objectivity
Anyone who was trying to do research on natural born citizen would not have been able to do so because someone scrubbed info regarding Minor v Happersett from the database. SCOTUS ruled in that case that nbc is a person born to 2 citizen parents. This info was scrubbed in 08 prior to the election.
The anti- birthers aren't too happy about this info being revealed?
To cover up for the criminal SS##### cheater in the Whit-Hut’s NBC issue!!!
