Organisers warn that camp is becoming haven for prisoners released from Rikers, but refuse to call police about alleged assaults
Demonstrators said they are dealing with the sexual assault of a woman internally after she was attacked by a man in her tent in the early hours of the morning.
It is the second alleged sexual assault at the camp, which organisers have warned is attracting prisoners straight out of Rikers, but have refused to call police.
The woman was in her tent at around 6am yesterday when the man burst into her tent and attacked her.

So, the OWS freaks are practicing vigilantism? Or are they going to throw that woman who was attacked under the proverbial bus?
Somehow, something is very, very wrong with this whole scenario. They don’t want the police in there. What are they hiding?
I suspect that the OWS people aren’t what they claim to be nor what we think they are. I humbly suggest to the police that they prepare for one hell of a nasty surprise and lots of violence from these people. Just what are they hiding in their very large and quite well maintained and provisioned bags and back packs?
This may be the best possible outcome for ending OWS.
At least here in Indianapolis, the homeless shelters prohibit booze and drugs, and most are run by religious groups so you also might get a dose of that “old time religion” with your free grub and indoor cot.
As winter sets in, I can see the homeless vagrants heading to OWS for more pleasurable freebies.
Are these occupy places sovereign territory? So if someone calls their backyard “Occupy Bugtussle” they can build a meth lab, pot farm or a brothel there and forbid the police from investigating?
I want a recall on Mayor Bumbleberg. He has abdicated his responsibility.
I’m clueless about NYC. No idea if that would get traction or not. I was shocked that Tony Weiner’s replacement was thrashed in the election.
What the Fruitcake? So incest situations should thus be handled “in-house”? Perhaps Enron could have been dealt with by a corporate appointed committee??

Soo, if a Christian Church wants to take care of a sex crime internally, it is not ok.
But if these clowns do it, it is ok?

So when were the protestors given the right to create and enforce their own laws?
If this is allowed, what prevents, say, groups of Muslims from demanding Islamic law instead of the U.S. legal system?
We should focus on demanding that every single law, zoning regulation, food preparation rule, smoking ban, fire code and permit requirement be enforced upon the protestors. After all, the authorities require the rest of us to comply.

Just maybe these left-wing loons might see the truth that most of us on the right have known all along: Many of the so-called homeless are druggies, mental cases and in lots of cases, just plain amoral criminals. On that basis, though, how can they be distinguished from the Occupiers?
I’m thinking that in a real city they’d be hauling in the leaders and holding them on obstruction of justice charges. That’s what would happen if the Tea Party tried that.
If the rapist was a homeless person, OWS would have called the police. It appears they are protecting one of their own.
