What may be new to most Americans is nothing out of the ordinary for our readers. As the economic, financial and political situation around us becomes more dire by the day, people are realizing that if it hits the fan there will be no safety net to assist them. The government is already overwhelmed with nearly 50 million people on nutritional assistance and an estimated 100 million Americans living in or right on the edge of poverty. In a true emergency, be it economic in nature or an unforeseen outlier, there will simply be no way local or federal officials can respond to the needs of everyone in need, something FEMA has repeatedly warned about.
Among the many possible emergency and disaster scenarios, the one that stands out as the most likely is an economic collapse driven by vast amounts of government debt that will never be repaid and a US dollar that is likely on its last leg as the world’s reserve currency . The consequences, if and when we reach the tipping point, will be unlike anything Americans have experienced in recent history. Forecasts of the fall-out from these events include runs on the banks, gas shortages, disruptions to our food supply and commerce systems, and the potential for riots and bloodshed in the streets. By many accounts a hyperinflationary depression cannot be avoided.
According to a recent report from CBS, Americans sense something isn’t normal, and like the government who has been actively taking steps to prepare for an economic breakdown and civil unrest, they are taking their future into their own hands by stocking up on essential supplies like food, self defense weapons and ammunition, and emergency evacuation kits:

Prepper’s PING!
I’ve already started stockpiling. There can be only one outcome when we’re 15 trillion dollars in debt and the only solution is to spend our way out of the current weak recovery. And folks, that outcome ain’t gonna be pretty.
Black clouds cover the horizon, the lightening is flashing and there is the distant sound of thunder! The storm flags are going up, who you heed them?
I am very aware that if it’s the great end that there is nothing I can do to stop or change it, but history is full of instances and times when man or nature have caused such a calamity that people have cried out and begged God to end it all.
The bible has many verse such as this:
A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it.
NIV Proverbs 22:3
This verse and others are there for a reason and I urge all to take heed of them, because we are clearly on the edge. Everyday there is a new story about the ‘Yutes’ who grow more restless everyday and when you add the fact that because of the economy people are already on edge it won’t take much to set things off.
Reminds me of one of my favorite quotes:

Today we have ‘yutes’ who roam our streets who are with out morals, without respect for law or life itself. They will look are you with the same ‘doll eyes’ a shark does before he eats you and they will feel no more compassion than the shark does.
That will be the test of many. Most preppers I know are Christian people and they will hesitate to do what they might have to do to stop the ‘yutes’. On the other hand the ‘yutes’ won’t think twice nor lose a minute of sleep, in fact they will smile and laugh about it.

For those of you who haven’t started already it’s time to prepare almost past time maybe. You needed to be stocking up on food guns, ammo, basic household supplies like soap, papergoods, cleaning supplies, good sturdy clothes including extra socks, underwear and extra shoes and boots, a extra couple changes of oil and filters for your car, tools, things you buy everyday start buying two and put one up.

Doubtful you will ever see a Bosnia-like siege here in the USA. This scenario is much more plausible

Supposedly FEMA bought up enough MREs to feed 14 million people but I don't recall it ever reported for how long a period. If there were a major fan hitting that spread to more than a localized area, there's no way the government will be able to manage things. It will be up to the individual.
Actually, I am beginning to believe that the ‘collapse’ is rigged as an excuse to force a Global Currency.

I don’t know in certain urban areas I can see enclaves of ethic groups surrounded and cut off and under siege. Not for a year but easily for a few days or even a weeks.
Hey someone has to stand on a bridge waiting for FEMA to bring them a bottle of water, a MRE and a warm blanket, how else is the network news going to get their money shot? ;-)
And the water wasn’t cold enough...
And they didn’t heat the blanket and they don’t make shrimp, lobster or Kobe beef MRE’s.
