To the continuing detriment of America, it worked like a charm for George Herbert Walker Bush.
Sigh.........Where do we get these clowns?
I know, Wolf Blizter is such a leftwing clown
... UNLESS, or UNTIL something happens to the President. Then see how important the VP becomes !
He may be right anymore. It didn’t help most people to use VP to get into the Presidency. The only one that did move up was Bush I that I can think of since WW II. I don’t think the Nixon really counts.
Oh, please.
One thing about it, you alway know where Perry stands. Just ask him, he’ll certainly tell you. I have to agree, why be second fiddle when you are the Governor of Texas.
Look Perry thinks DC is seedy. He isn’t running for president because of his ego, he is running to put America back on the right track. So why would he ever want to be VP, there is nothing in that office to promote the type of change America needs. IF he isn’t the POTUS, then please let him be running Texas when the chit hits the fan and America sinks. Talk about chaos...there will be a very few save places to be or live then.
I cant find the bucket of spit quote, where is it?
He was quoting John Nance Garner, another Texan, who had left a powerful position in the Senate to become V-Pres for FDR.
FDR essentially froze Garner out because he was a very conservative Democrat.
He didn't say spit.
Thanks, I couldn’t find it at the article’s link.
At lest we don’t have to worry about Perry being VP then.
The video focuses on Perry’s ad concerning Obama’s war on faith.
I like the fact that Perry unapologetically stands up and states that his Christian faith is a part of who he is as an individual and it affects his decision making. I want someone who is guided by Judeo-Christian principles.
Today you just don’t hear politicians taking this type of stand so explicitely as political correctness has most of them cowering in the corner or at best dancing around the edges.
PERRY: Why would I leave being governor of the state of Texas to be vice president?
BLITZER: You're just in next line to be president of the United States?
PERRY: -- very powerful statement about that. Being vice president is not worth a bucket of warm spit.

You’d think the quote would be on a plaque out in Uvalde, but I haven’t seen it yet...
He's a bit late on that. The Supreme Court upheld the Boy Scout's right to exclude homosexuals as members or leaders in the BSA v. Dale decision back in 2000.
