"Berg continued, “The Social Security office in the state of Maryland issues Social Security numbers and cards for people residing all over the United States. Just like in the 70′s, local Social Security offices were and continue to be back-logged, thus Maryland issues the numbers and cards as do other less busy Social Security offices. The state that issued the SSN number and card is not always and does not mean the person had to reside in that state. "

So, are we now supposed to accept that teenager Obama wanted to work part time shining shoes in Hawaii and jetted off to Maryland to get his SS card because his lightly populated Island was overwhelmed with application traffic?

this is BS too, for more than just the obvious reasons.

They use to issue SS number by reagion because of the MANUAL FILING requirments.

Before the age of computers, You had to physically walk these paper forms to a filing cabinet to store and retrieve them

If you had to walk all over the place for records from one state, it would take forever. You WANTED to have records from the same geographic area grouped together

There is no way they would file the CT SSnumbers next to the Hawaii SS numbers.
