Obama’s re-election campaign is now encouraging Democrats to flaunt their financial support for the President, in order to taunt their Republican friends:
This holiday season, we’re giving you a chance to have a little bit of fun at their expense. Let a Republican in your life know they inspired you to make a donation to the Obama campaign — chip in $3 or more today.
When you give to the campaign, simply enter your Republican friend’s email address and they’ll get a note letting them know that they motivated you to donate — which will surely make their day.
How sweet. James Taranto tells us more in this Wall Street Journal article (“Commander in Creep”) from Real Clear Politics. I am now firmly convinced that everyone in the Obama administration is functioning at the emotional level of harebrained 13-year-old girls.
And, as Taranto points out, the childish gimmick seems to conceal a more sinister purpose:
Let’s say you’re a Republican and your 20-something daughter is an Obamabot. (Have you had a DNA test?) She makes a $10 donation to the president’s campaign, which sends her an email tweaking you — and your name and email address are now on a list of dissenters against the most powerful man in the world.
That is, a powerful man with a latent totalitarian streak who is also functioning at the emotional level of an arrogant, harebrained 13-year-old girl. In 2008, the American electorate, given a population pool of 300 million people, somehow managed to select the one man most uniquely unqualified to be President of the United States.
Anybody who did this to me would know longer be a friend. If it was a child, they’d be out of the will.

What is wrong with these people? They still act like they are in high school. The country is going to hell and they have time for mic checks, Mickey mouse recall signatures and this kind of crap. What a bunch of immature idiots.

Just like in sports, if two teams are fairly evenly matched, you don’t give an excuse for the other team to try harder.
It may also be an indication that their fundraising efforts are flagging, which is good.
Unfortunately they don't see it that way. In the progressive world, 0bamas the greatest thing since sliced bread, his agenda is still on track and the stupid party is in the process of shooting itself in the foot. Things couldn't better in the country. unemployment > 9% is the new normal.
And after all, isn't that what Christmas is all about; fun at other's expense? Sheesh!
Is the Messiah giving the finger to McCain and Hillary? To his audience? Or to America at large?
It is anyone's guess.
Me, too. Plus I would spend the rest of my life working part time to put their e-mail address (and their children, husbands and wives) on every spam advertising list on the internet. I would pass out their telephone numbers and address on the internet, every chance I got. For life.
It would be waaaaar! :)
