President Barack Obama faced a civil liberties backlash today after he signed a law that will allow terror suspects to be held indefinitely- even raising the prospects of U.S. citizens being sent to Guantanamo Bay. The controversial move, revealed last night, effectively extends the laws of the battlefield to American soil.
The move shows a clear hardening of Mr Obama’s anti-terror policies, and a major shift from the liberal stance that helped him sweep into power three years ago.

All Freepers can at least take consolation in the knowledge that the Pauls will be the first to go.
Obama is so deceitful and powerful that he was able to convince 42 Republican Senators to vote to give Obama the power to send innocent patriotic Americans to Gitmo.
It’s so like the Dem’s hero FDR who sent to interment camps Americans of Japanese decent with the approval of the Supreme Court. Then too there were Italians and Germans also lest we forget.
At least this might make it easier to send the Kenyan and his corrupt cast of communist cronies there in 2013.

I personally do not even blame Obama as much as I blame Congress. Their specific job is to read the bills and vote based on what they have read, NOT based on what the president has said. These Republicans scare me more than the Democrats because at least Democrats tell you that they are Socialists.
I haven’t found it yet - but the first search brought up the point that December 15 is also the anniversary of the Bill of Rights! And I DON”T think that is a coincidence.
