I guess it’s cuz I’m new but my comments aren’t showing right away. No prob.

But also, Cincinatus’ Wife, thanks for the link to the Problem ad. My imho my ad is better — by far. It changed my vote, seriously, I was for Newt, and that 3 seconds where he says “I will not let the big govt liberals ruin the country” did it.

I’m just saying that if we are going to make an effort, like with commments at other sites or blogs or whatever, we should push my ad, and Perry should know that this is the best ad.

My ad gets to the heart of it. The “insider” commercial is good, but more conventional, it doesn’t hit as powerful a chord. Again, “my” ad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=BAGhCnGz4S8

But if you feel differently, fine.

What Perry should have said is simply that he would have liked to have Gov. Haley’s endorsement, but he was proud to be able to announce the other endorsement—and then talk that up.

But that wouldn't have been who Rick Perry is. Aren't we sick of political animals who stick their finger in the wind to pick a position or give poll tested responses?

I am sure Perry expected a Nikki Haley endorsement. Like my brother the Mitt supporter text me "what do you think of Judas?"

That was his response to Mitt getting her endorsement instead of Perry. I figure Perry might have used the name Benedict Arnold but it's politics. I think his response will play very well, especially in South Carolina.

Clearly, some of these endorsements are for party positioning purposes.

The endorsement that will trump all others will be Palin’s.

I was shouting at my TV during the debate when Bachmann brought up Newt not being willing to defund Planned Parenthood, because Perry did defund it in Texas, resulting in 13 shut downs so far and the Obama Administration has threatened to withhold funding for breast cancer screening if Perry and Texas doesn't start funding planned parenthood again.

I didn't know that - thanks. Perry has been actually dealing with this stuff as an executive, longer than anyone else running. We don't have to rely on his words - we can look at his record.

Why more conservatives don't support him is a mystery to me - after all of the tea party stuff, WHY aren't more conservatives backing the most conservative candidates?

I DO like "your" ad.

I like all the Perry ads and he keeps cranking them out like pancakes at a church breakfast!

I also laugh when I see this (I believe it was done to diss Gov. Perry but it's very good).

Gosh it makes me laugh!!

It's coming. The shift is happening. Notice how Free Republic is even more hospitable? Conservatives have vetted the candidates. Perry isn't going anywhere. He will give the voters a choice.

This will hurt Nikki Haley far more than it will Rick Perry.

I've always had this thought in my head, regarding that I think John McCain's job was to lose that election, it is not impossible for me to think that Palin might have been picked as VP to 'damage' her for any future consequence.

That might have been in the equation with this Nikki Haley thing - maybe she had too bright of a future with the tea parties - hence the effort to cut her down early.

Politics is such a dirty business.

It’s been frustrating watching the talkers while Perry has been doing but the voter will get it.

I sure you've noticed how commentators and talking heads and print media say, "Perry did real well, probably his best debate -- solid answers BUT can he overcome his earlier flubs.......

Now this is the meme they've chose to admit Perry is good in the debates but also to dismiss any possibility of his gaining traction. No other candidate has this "past debate" record placed on them.

I think it’s starting to irritate the voters. Fox News basically left him out of the debate and I think people noticed. The questions he got he nailed them but voters don’t like media trying to make their decisions for them that is for sure.

I've noticed a change here at FR - I'm not getting jumped on as often these days. It's no surprise to me - I decide who I throw my support on - based on COLD HARD FACTS - not who the media says "can" or "cannot" win.

I've supported Perry pretty much from the beginning of his entering the race - I'm not a fair-weather conservative. At this point in the election - we should be making idealogical choices - to make sure we get the best when it winnows down. It's too early to be letting polls and such tell us who to back.

Perry also supported Haley and even wrote an Op-Ed with her back during the budget Cut Cap and Balance fight. Haley made a political move. It will hurt her.

Gov. Perry is going to go after Obama!

I’m tired of politicians that ‘pay back’ political favors - that sucks - completely leaves out the will of the people!

I was the most enthusiastic supporter of Palin until she did it with her endorsement of John McCain - FATAL error for me - a policitian with a price.

I think if RIGHT NOW isn’t the right time to try something else - we won’t ever get another opportunity to do so again in my lifetime. This is my one big chance to actually change some things - to actually have a representative actually REPRESENT me!
