Obama Derangement Syndrome?
Works and Days ^ | December 23, 2011 | Victor Davis Hanson

Posted on 12/23/2011 2:23:19 PM PST by decimon

I’d say if you live in the United States of America and you vote for George Bush, you’ve lost your mind. — John Edwards

When does the legitimate “I oppose Obama” descend into the illegitimate “I hate Obama”?

It is popular now to suggest that conservatives in general and congressional Republicans in particular suffer from an obsession characterized by an uncontrolled antipathy for Barack Obama — personal and visceral — that warps their entire political outlook. No doubt some do experience the same obsessions that infected the Left in their furor at George W. Bush. One can find unhinged posters at anti-Obama rallies similar to those at anti-Bush demonstrations. Bloggers can show hatred for Obama in the manner one found them despising Bush. Perhaps for Howard Dean’s rants about Bush’s supposed foreknowledge of 9/11, we have Donald Trump insisting on a fraudulent Obama birth certificate. Truthers are analogous to Birthers. And for every conspiracy theory that Bush was continuing a long family tradition of profiting from Nazi trade, there was a suggestion that Obama was a Manchurian candidate planted here by Islamic interests to destroy from the inside the United States.

But again, I am not talking about conspiracy rants and raves, but a general psychiatric affliction that infects the influential political class — politicians, journalists, and those in popular culture and the arts.

So how does one distinguish natural political opposition from a psychotic state? In other words, when will we know that popular opposition to Obama’s worldview and a dislike at the way he seeks to divide the country degenerate into the paranoid venom that was unleashed against Bush?

Here are some things to watch on the national scene to warn us:

He is scum! If that means someone calls me full of OBD syndrome, then so be it.

Maybe it is not fair to compare Obama to Hitler. Hitler, afterall, would never had to use a teleprompter. He could write a line or two on a piece of paper and makes a half and hour to an hour speech from that. Hitler also had CIC ability and the Messiah clearly doesn't have any.

Hitler worked to kill Jews on his own, while Obama leads from the rear and is hoping Iran will do his dirty work against Israel, which has 5.5 million Jews. Obama has been midwifing Iran's nuclear bomb.

Nah.... Obama isn't Hitler. He is like a more incompetent copy. Maybe an affirmative action Hitler.

Hitler was also a vegetarian, while Hussein outsources his healthy diet to Moochelle who foists it on other people’s children.

Another example of leading from behind rear.

Moochelle's ample behind.

Obama Birth Certificate Faked In Adobe Illustrator - Official Proof 1 ( Layers )

Explain that, Victor, or lose all credibility.

"I'm not a computer expert" is not an acceptable answer.

Hate is like you a far to soft word. I do believe that if someone is doing wrong to you, your family or your country, it should be screamed out loud and that person should be told how you feel. I despise and loathe this person. He is everything that is wrong with the world. He is in my mind a demon from Satan. His plan is to destroy the only god fearing, freedom loving country in the world. As he plans for Isreals demise also.. God please let us have a normal American loving President back next year.

An adult piece from VDH. It will not be popular here, though.

I hate what Obama has done to this country. I hate the utter craziness that comes out of the mouths of his uncritical supporters who just don't seem to see the closed stores or have any unemployed friends/relatives, and who blame "racism" for any criticism of Obama.

I've never been able to think of Obama as an American black. When he opens his mouth at an event when he wants to appear intelligent, what comes out sounds like the mutterings of an old white hippie, which is essentially what he is. His melanin is incidental. He's just another leftist who loathes this country.

I don't hate Obama. I don't waste energy on an emotion like hate, except in very special cases. I want him voted out of office. I never have fantasies of him suffering violence, although sometimes I visualize him in an orange jumpsuit and handcuffs.

I find Michelle one of the most irritating public figures in decades. I think she made a terrible bargain: marry the gay guy, pose as the wife and smile, and you will have a politically influential position. She already had an attitude of entitlement, and adding to this the expectation of a payoff for the role she has played makes Michelle a most unhappy, bitter, nutty woman. Listen to the way she talks about him. Listen to the way they treat "their" daughters--no birthday or Christmas gifts--who doesn't want to treat their children well? But I wish no evil upon Michelle, either, I just want her out of the WH. She probably wants out, anyway; no doubt she has her eye on far more grandiose settings for herself.

The daughters? I feel badly for them, because they're stage props, just like the dumb-looking dog.

Wow! Pretty great post. Especially detailing Michele’s role as beard.

I must say that Obama’s name is spoken in my prayers every day. “Please, God; make Obama go away.” Sometimes I pray for Obama’s salvation because I think that a true conversion would be the ultimate stunning testimony. It would/could serve to change the world if our president made decisions from a Christ-filled heart.

But... if he would just go away, that would be fine with me.

Even if Obama "got religion" and became a God-fearing, Constitutional originalist, nothing much would change because the daily business of the destruction of this country is directed by people other than Obama. He's the figurehead who made it possible to get a lot of dangerous, America-loathing people into positions where they could do a lot of damage.

Look at his daily schedule at whitehouse.gov: he does very little every day. Sometimes he does not get his daily briefing until 10.30 AM, and that's the first thing on his schedule. Some days the only things on his schedule are the mid-morning briefing (30 minutes) and lunch with Biden (O to be a fly on the wall and take in the scintillating conversation...)

I suffer from Obongo the Marxist Islamic Kenyan syndrome. I oppose him, hate him, detest him, despise him, loathe the ground he walks on and live for the day he leaves the White House.

Sometimes I pray for Obama’s salvation because I think that a true conversion would be the ultimate stunning testimony.

Obama has an immutable hardened heart. His lifelong and unaltered commitment to "my [his] Muslim faith" (his very words) assures he'll never have a Saul on the road to Damascus awakening. As a avowed Marxist, a key part of his very being is to hate Christianity and all the Good that it represents.

You're right that such a conversion, as far fetched as it may be, would be utterly stunning. Still, I personally can't envision being in the same Eternal Heaven with the likes of Obama since the treachery and unspeakable evil he has sown here on earth can't be undone.

It's not really derangement since we try to make sense of Zeros chaos and
I doubt many here are confused about his leadership direction.
We don't froth from the mouth or blame Zero for snowy days in march.

On the flip side the RAT supporters blamed everything on Bush. That's derangement.
