Gov. Rick Perry on Christmas Day Bombings in Nigeria
Rick Perry for President ^ | 26th December 2011 | Governor Rick Perry

Posted on 12/26/2011 4:08:59 PM PST by shield

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today issued the following statement condemning the terrorist attacks on Christian churches in Nigeria on Christmas Day:

“These attacks are designed to strike at the foundation of a civil society by massacring innocent civilians at worship. These savage acts are part of a disturbing trend of attacks on Christians extending from Nigeria to Egypt to Iraq. Americans should not be afraid to express solidarity with these Christian communities, and to recognize their persecution for the evil that it is.

“The United States should stand with our allies to support the Nigerian government in the aftermath of the attacks. The terrorist activities of Boko Haram are particularly worrisome for the United States because of the organization’s affiliation with Al Qaeda. Through this connection, Boko Haram may eventually threaten not only the people of Nigeria who wish to live free under the democratic rule of law, but also free peoples everywhere. Even after the death of Osama bin Laden we must remain vigilant about the danger Al Qaeda-related networks pose to us, and fashion our policy in Africa accordingly.”

Perry, Santorum, or Bachman is fine with me. Besides they are all electable against Obama. Romney is positively out and Gingrich is un-telegenic as he is unelectable.

Many wont like Perry calling out the truth, the day after Christmas.

He stayed silent on Christmas day, but where us the rest of the world today?

Golfing in Oahu?

Perry is definitely running against Obama and it seems to me he is saying over and over "No Obama, we are a Christian nation"

Give 'em hell Perry

The Vacationer in Chief dispensed Carney with a weak statement of condolence. No need to take a golf break when you have “people.”

Meanwhile Obama goes way out on a limb and says the attacks "appear to be terrorist acts" (source).

When Carney's unavailable for comment, the media lies and spins for him and the White House.  We're being played every single day by this administration and the drive-by media.  The media doesn't even think it's odd that these two worthless mooches to society fly on separate planes.

Good call, Carney is the go to guy when you need to defend terrorists. Wonder how long it took the speechwriters to come up with the “senseless, we condemn and offer help” statement. Oh, I forgot the part about “this initially appears to be a terrorist act.” You think? Something tells me it wasn’t the Salvation Army bell ringer who did this. Perry had the proper response.

I do not for the life of me understand why people think Obamas weasels are wordsmiths.

You can bet if this had happened at a Nigerian mosque Obama would have dispatched Michelle, flowers and a delegation of mourners flogging themselves in sympathy. Perry had the courage and common sense to point out attacks on Christians are occurring with increasing frequency. The lack of attention this received in the American press is infuriating. They decided the bigger story is Obama playing with babies in Hawaii.

>>These savage acts are part of a disturbing trend of attacks on Christians extending from Nigeria to Egypt to Iraq.<<

.
Well said, but talk is cheap. I have not seen or heard ONE Texan Muslim making a public statement rejecting Muslim persecution of Christians, worldwide.

We can only assume that they do not object but actually agree with the persecution of Christians by their co-religionists while they enjoy the freedom to deface the Texan skyline with their menacing mosques.

Yet, there were plenty of them right here in Texas who celebrated the destruction of the WTC.

Governor Perry, take a good look at the situation — what is happening to the Christians in Nigeria and Egypt will happen here sooner or later.

Dear Conservative Americans:

Take a minute to look at Rick Perry and you will find everything we want and NEED in a candidate——rock-solid conservative principles along with real leadership experience. WAKE UP, PLEASE!

I really see my Governor out of his realm when he speaks of International situations (unless it's a Mexico thing).

Very Strange indeed.

Maybe I haven't accepted the fact that he really thinks he has a chance after America has suffered through (in recent memory) other Texas notoriety ~ LBJ and GWB.

I love him as a Texas Governor and I would vote for him in a Houston second over Obami.....He's just being very, very deep right now.....

Perry is apparently the only one who has noticed the atrocity of the Catholic Churches perishing, let alone actually mentioning the purge. Good for him. Hillary and Obama have both diligently ignored the obvious, caught up instead in doing their feather dances with and for the Muslim extremists. Pathetic, but telling for our future in the USA.
