Yes, the earlier books certainly had less of a plot flowing through the book and were certainly more spontaineous. (Btw, the first book, Land of the Soviets was much more 'hokey' than the America one, and even more political).

But of course the later ones (like the Calculus affair) have much better plots...and the Thomsons are almost always there for comic relief....

We don’t yet have the Soviet book, or the Congo one. I’d like to have them, as that would effectively complete our collection.
