This was no more “honor killing” than Jared Loughner.

There's witness testimony that attests to the fact that the father forbade his daughter from dating non-Muslim men, and was twisted out of shape about her social life.

What's happened here, fits the 'honor killing' profile like a glove. It can't be ruled out, and in my mind, is the most likely motive for the murders.

His house had been foreclosed about a year ago and his wife was divorcing him and had already moved out. This is more than just 'honor killing' because he didn't just kill his daughter he killed the entire family.
