Newt Gingrich Endorsed by Architect of Reagan Economic Plan, Economist Arthur Laffer
Dyersville, IA Renowned economist, father of The Laffer Curve and supply-side economics, and architect of the Ronald Reagan economic plan, Arthur Laffer, announced his endorsement today of Newt Gingrich for President of the United States.
Newt has the best plan for jobs and economic growth of any candidate in the field, said Laffer.
Like Ronald Reagans tax cuts and pro-growth policies, Newts low individual and corporate tax rates, deregulation and strong dollar monetary policies will create a boom of new investment and economic growth leading to the creation of tens of millions of new jobs over the next decade. Plus, Newts record of helping Ronald Reagan pass the Kemp Roth tax cuts and enacting the largest capital gains tax cut in history as Speaker of the House shows he can get this plan passed and put it into action.
Mr. Laffer will join Newt Gingrich in Storm Lake, IA Thursday for a formal press conference announcing the endorsement.
Rebuilding the America we love requires returning to job creation and economic growth. We need big changes to fix the economy, and I am ready to stand up to Barack Obamas class warfare rhetoric to make the case that letting the American people keep more of what they earn is the best way to create jobs.
Dr. Laffer received his B.A. in economics from Yale, his MBA and Ph. D. in economics at Stanford. Laffer is the founder and chairman of Laffer Associates, an economic research firm focusing on interconnecting macroeconomics, political and demographic changes affecting global financial markets

You missed the chance to say “Art is a laugher.” Maybe next time...
Gotta remember, Krauthammer was the guy who asked O’Reilly to change the name of his segment on his show from “Charles in Charge” to something more boring. Krauthammer is the ultimate cocktail party, upper class conservative. I’m sure every time he looks at Newt he sees Bluto Butarsky. Newt is not a guy who cares about politeness in politics or otherwise. People like Krauthammer are just too stuck up and can’t get past that kind of cultural divide.
I wouldn’t say its one disagreement. Its one big disagreement of the fundamental of an economy. The relationship between US and the rest of the world, esp China etc. Art saw it as a good thing that US export USD and import goods. While Peter saw it as a negative thing because US is not making anything but printing USD
You are right. The shallowness of Kraut’s analysis is a blatant personal bias, because he is not as stupid as he is acting.
As for the newsletter - it was a news letter on new developments in health care. Of course such a newsletter welcomed a state trying something new in general. And of course they had issues with some of what the state was doing. There are many problems the newsletter found with Romney Care while applauding the effort. It was nothing like a lock step thumbs up for the whole thing. And it certainly stressed that one of the positives was that a state would try something that the rest of the nation could observed and analyze.
If it's a Romney stopper I'm all for it!
When it really mattered he was dumb as a door nail!
Peter Schiff destroyed Laffer's credibility!!.
The wealth of the average American has plummetted.
Laffer is a cheap turd!
It also appears Kraut operates from both sides of the aisle...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Krauthammer
In 1978, Krauthammer quit the practice of psychiatry and came to Washington to direct planning in psychiatric research under the Carter administration. He began contributing articles about politics to The New Republic and in 1980 served as a speech writer to Vice President Walter Mondale. In January 1981, Krauthammer joined The New Republic as both a writer and editor.
On July 29, 2011, former congressman and MSNBC host Joe Scarborough said that Krauthammer “is, without a doubt the most powerful force in American conservatism. He has [been] for two, three, four years.”[13]
Former president Bill Clinton called Krauthammer “a brilliant man” in a December 2010 press conference.[15] Krauthammer responded, tongue-in-cheek, that “my career is done” and “I’m toast”.[16]
“One disagreement???” Any economist worth his salt would have known that the growing real estate bubble in 2006 was unsustainable, and that there would be a severe hangover down the road, yet Laffer not only laughed it off; he said the economy had never been stronger!
This isn’t “one disagreement”. This to me demonstrates that while Laffer might be good on overall economic policy, he doesn’t do well at connecting some basic dots. There was a massive bubble growing right in front of his eyes, and he couldn’t even see it.
Which doesn’t change the fact that both Laffer and Schiff agree on far more than they disagree on. They both are low tax low regulation guys, both supply siders to one degree or another, and both big critics of all facets of Obamanomics.
In other words, there is probably nothing in Laffer’s reasoning behind his Newt endorsement that Schiff would disagree with economically. (I have no idea politicaly). Thus, a Schiff Laffer disagreement in 06 about monetary policy is totally irrelevant and does nothing to Laffer’s cred with respects to the issue at hand.
I would like to know who Schiff supports also. He does great work.
I think working on both sides of the aisle that comfortably is the definition of being part of the “establishment.” Having the Harvard degree doesn’t hurt either.

His honor is only worth a penny!
Hahaha. I didn't watch the panel today. All too often, CK let's his highbrow Beltway bluster color reality.
I get it that he doesn't like Gingrich or want Gingrich to win the nomination, but CK is starting to look foolishly Mondale.
Hmmm. Ronald Reagan respected Art Laffer. Laffer helped lay the intellectual foundation for Reaganomics. But Palin Smith says he’s a cheap turd. (you gotta respect that kind of deep reasoned and in depth analysis).
I’ll go out on a limb and go with Reagan and Laffer.
The economist Laffer was very excited, as are many other business peoploe, about Herman Cain’s 999 plan. I think if Cain was still in the race, Laffeter would have endorsed him!
A great many people hare having a hard time with Cain out ofthe picture. I think he could be drafted. Mr. Cain wsas our best shot. I really cannot see anyone else doing what he could do for the country. People love the guy, and for good reason. So let’s raise some Cain!
Tell him how you feel by emailing him at info@hermancain.com. Or send him a letter at Herman Cain, Inc. P.O. 2158, Stockbridge, Georgia, 30281
Thank you.
Wow!!! Endorsed by Art Laffer???? Damn; that pretty well seals it. The Election is over now. Newt will win by a landslide.
Art Who?
If we lose Newt we will have lost the Country.
Good as gold! The Reagan bashers among the libs and the GOP establishment are going to bust a gasket.
Peter Schiff? THE Peter Schiff? They guy who came in 3rd in a 3 person Senate Primary to a wrestling promoter's wife and a 70 year old nonentity of a backbench Congresscritter?
Sniff....sniff.....it's getting stronger.....I recognize that smell....
Yep, I'd recognize that smell anywhere....it's a Paultard!
Where's my spray?!
Hank
