Throw 'Em All Out...And Good Riddance!

Crony capitalism is the most serious current danger to the American community, a threat not simply to government or the economy, but to our very way of life. It is the worst such threat since the trusts and monopolies of the early 20th century, and in much the same way. Cronyism is one of the major forces behind the establishment of the corrupt pseudo-aristocracy that has been taking shape in this country over the past two decades, a synthetic privileged class made up in large part of politicians, hustlers, and hangers-on who have become expert in exploiting the rest of us.

The legacy media, for some obscure reason, tends to bury discussions about this group. While the reportage on discrete incidents is there -- see the parade of stories on Solyndra, Goldman Sachs, and MF Global for examples -- we find little effort to pull it all together. Academics, with the single exception of Angelo Codevilla, who sounded the alarm two years ago in The Ruling Class, appear oblivious, as if they had no idea what's going on, which may well be the case.

Remember that when you turn on the TV and watch the slickest crony capitalists of all - professional sports franchises. They even have so-called conservatives admiring them.

"Academics, with the single exception of Angelo Codevilla, who sounded the alarm two years ago in The Ruling Class, appear oblivious, as if they had no idea what's going on, which may well be the case." The Academics are are either in league with or the useful fools of the elites. I'm more inclined to say they are the useful fools.

Conservatives in Iowa should take copies of that to the caucus and read it aloud.

“...What we truly require is a return to ethics on the mass scale. How this is to be done I have no more idea than anyone else.”

“But the first step is knowledge —”

That’s the only way is to expose them, and expose them as early as possible on their trek towards self serviance.

Cronyism is difficult to break up as there generally speaking isn’t any support by rank and file industry/government participants whom fear rocking the boat will get them wet, or drowned. It depends on their hair.

Help wanted: Bold Investigative, watchdog Journalists to oversee ethics of government representatives, and to report their activities, expose their ethical misgivings, their mischief as it happens, as often as it happens.

I haven't seen this "parade" of stories anywhere but conservative media. The MSM has had little to say on any of these.

I'll be sure to do that and I'll be sure to tell all those conservatives there to toss out Congressman Steve King and vote for ultra-liberal Christie Vilsack.

Sounds like a winner of a plan. Our country will be better off for it!! (EXTREME SARCASM)

This idea is beyond stupid and only suitable for those who do not have a brain to THINK.

Deify pols if you want. To my mind nobody’s irreplaceable. And I like the idea of new blood. Pols are like diapers and should be frequently changed for the same reason.

I'm not deifying anyone but I certain know that Congressman Steve King is FAR preferable to the ultra liberal, pro-abortion, Christy Vilsack and any thinking person will agree.

If you prefer Christy Vilsack over Congressman Steve King, you're on the wrong website. You need to go to DU.
