You insert, “cult-like devotion to one particular politician” — in a post to me, so I will respond.

Sir (?) I am a proud supporter of Gov. Rick Perry. He’s been the best choice since he announced, and my research and advocacy these past months has only solidified my support for his candidacy and broadened my knowledge about his outstanding record (which I have been proud and eager to share and defend on this forum).

His record like gardasil, pro-amnesty, in-state tuition subsidizing illegals, calling conservatives heartless, telling Pelosi to pass TARP, etc. etc.

You’re not a girl. But almost everyone you pinged is. Point proven.

Perry’s commitment won’t do a damn bit of good when he drops out after getting a scant amount of delegates from SC/FL, which will be going to either Newt or Santorum.

Who will you vote for if Perry drops out before the Texas primary?

Who are your top three candidates still in it?

I’ll answer if you’ll tell me who’s gonna be left after SC/FL.

Consider the money/ground game questions.

Really.

And don’t be an idiot. You’re asking me to answer a question based on your premises.

So don’t come up with some pie-in-the-sky hypothetical.

Perry’s got the money and the ground game. Romney’s got the money and MAYBE the ground game.

Who else has either?

So now, who’s left to pick from in your scenario?

Quit Texas dodging me, High Roller.

1. Do you have a second and third choice?

2. If so, does he or she have names?

3. What are those name(s)?

You're having a hard time with this, aren't you? You say Perry will drop out after SC/FL. YOU say this.

Then, you ask me who I'd support once he does. Since you're prognosticating and predicting the future and setting the whole hypothetical up, I ask you who's gonna still be in it? Who am I to pick from?

Guess what? You won't tell me. If I don't know you want me to pick from, how can I select one?

Please, tell me who's gonna be in it if Perry drops out after SC/FL.

You don't wanna try and do that one, do you?

Perry and Romney are the only ones that have the capacity to run this thing that far. As we know it today.

Unless you've got some new information.

So, I'll ask again: Who's gonna be around after SC/FL if Perry drops out?

Don't be a sissy. Just say it out loud. Who do you think?

Loved the earmark ad

http://blog.sfgate.com/nov05election/2012/01/02/california-lawmakers-hit-iowa-for-perry-watch-his-new-pig-ad-blistering-santorum-video/

Watching Greta tonight and I do not think she liked this ad at all. No sense of humor....she did not like Perry calling Santorum a pig.

I had to watch the ad to see if the ad actually said the word pig. It did not, but it showed a lot of cute little pink colored guys

Over 11 years as Governor and 2 as Lt. Governor and there are four issues that you disagree with? Show me one other candidate that has done nearly as well.

The Governor has so many positive achievements over those years.

He stepped up to the job when Rita, Katrina, Ike and all those hurricanes tore into our neighbors and our own State.

Well over $400 Million to border security, including some money that had been budgeted to the Governor’s office funds.

Addition of Department of Public Safety forces, guns and aircraft to Federal border security.

Fighting off Federal Regulations from the EPA, Medicare and Medicaid, among others.

Limited property taxes, lowering them in 2007.

Kept our Government going to win Republican redistricting although the Dem House disrupted our 140 day Regular Legislative Session, and the Dem Senators all ran to New Mexico for 30 days, in 2003.

Held off embryonic stem cell research, clone and kill, although both were strongly supported by RINOs as well as the Dems.

The Governor signed incremental legislation that has so far stood up to Federal courts and regulations that de-funded the abortion wing of Planned Parenthood by pushing Parental notification through when he was Lt. Governor, informed consent and parental consent along with prenatal protection in 2005. Even before that, we began forcing PP to at least artificially separate the corporations that collect Federally funded Family Planning Medicaid funds. After testing and time, we found a way this year to divert our funds to non-PP medical clinics, hospitals and county clinics.

The Governor has called for an evaluation of the program to test for steroids - to scale it way back and to prove that it’s effective. Unfortunately, the steroid testing is in the budget - hard to veto that monstrous bill.

The Governor was totally within the law as written by the State Legislature which placed the mandating of vaccines under the Executive Branch authority. He ordered that it be easier to opt out, but that parents who didn’t opt out could get the vaccine at the same time the MMR and tetanus booster shots are due.

You’re wrong about the “In State Tuition for Illegal Aliens.” The law you’d have had the Governor veto includes an exception among many as to who pays non-resident tuition. It includes anyone who lives here in Texas for one year, anyone who lives in and graduates from a school in a county in another that’s adjacent to Texas (for some colleges, within 100 miles our border with the other State), military and their dependents. That law also includes anyone who finishes the last 3 years of their high school, live in Texas for the last 3 years, and who graduate from a Texas high school.

There never was a “bi-National Socialized Medicine for the US and Mexico.” There was a study about allowing Private insurance companies to sell policies on both sides of the border.

Also, the braces and transportation was forced on us by the Federal courts, in an “agreement” that began under a court order back in 1993.

Rick Santorum has never been faced with a (State) Constitutional mandate to deliver a balanced budget every 2 years.

Every Candidate Should Show Reverence To Our Military as Rick Perry Does!

The whole video is great but Perry pays tribute to our military at 15:33: The Heroes that stand with him:

Lone Survivor Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell and Capt Dan Moran!

http://www.c-span.org/Events/Rick-Perry-Ends-Campaign-Day-in-Perry-Iowa/10737426778-1/

Rick Perry is a Veteran, he cares about our military and it is so heartwarming and refreshing to hear someone finally take a stand for our Troops and our Veterans! Rick Perry made a promise to this mother that if he makes it to the White House, he will put all the Leavenworth cases under scrutiny and release those who shouldn't be there!

I hope he sets an example for all the candidates running! Our Troops have been fighting to keep us all safe for 9 1/2 years and it is about time they took the stage with all the candidates! Recognize them, revere them, honor them, it's about darn time!

Did Rick attempt to vaccinate 11 year old girls against a Sexually Transmitted Disease?

trumandogz, you, like Michelle Bachmann, are too focused on the vaccine itself and you're missing the bigger picture.

The bigger picture is that Perry's good buddy, former Chief of Staff and adviser, Mike Toomey, left working for Perry/State of Texas and went to work for Merck to lobby Rick Perry/Texas to try and get this vaccine pushed through somehow.

Had Rick Perry and his lobbyist buddy Mike Toomey been successful, regardless of whether it was mandatory or not, it would have meant a lot of money for Merck and Toomey, and more importantly, it would have helped Merck roll this vaccine out in other states. Merck needed Texas to support this vaccine, because it would have been the first major state to do so. Had Perry/Toomey been successful, Merck would have been able to sell this vaccine all over the country, and would have made God knows how much money off of it.

Bachmann really should have been talking up the Mike Toomey angle, because it would have generated just as much controversy, if not more, and it speaks volumes about Perry.

Good point.

However the Mike Toomey connection is a bit of inside baseball which is understood here in Texas, but would not necessarily get traction in Iowa.

And now, with Rick Perry coming home to Texas and ending his campaign for the presidency, such minutia on the real Rick Perry is no longer needed by those outside of the Lone Star State.
