Perry packs events into last day before caucus [Marcus Luttrell and Larry Gatlin]
Dallas Morning News ^ | January 2, 2012 | Christy Hoppe

Rick Perry gave two network and one local affiliate interviews this morning, starting at 5:45 a.m., reiterating his closing lines in Iowa, which are he's the non-Washington insider and he's the only social conservative with the money and campaign organization to run a national campaign.

...Perry hits three cities today on his last major trip across Iowa, ending tonight in - fittingly - a town called Perry. He's traveling with flat-tax proponent Steve Forbes, friend and decorated former Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, Congressman Sam Graves [Missouri], Congressman Mick Mulvaney [South Carolina], Comptroller Susan Combs and country music singer Larry Gatlin.

Check out video of Perry's interview with [Politico's] Mike Allen below. You got a name?

I love Gov Perry = BEST governor in the USA today! Bar none!!!

But it is what it is.

The very latest polling shows:

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney — 23 percent ..LIBERAL DEM IS NOT GETTING OUR NOM IF SC & FL HAVE A SAY (And they do!)

Texas Rep. Ron Paul — 22 percent ..RACIST NUTJOB APPEALS TO DEMS & DRUGGIES

Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum — 18 percent : ) ..GO RICK!

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich — 16 percent : ) ..GO NEWT!

Texas Gov. Rick Perry — 10 percent ..DROPS OUT WED

Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann — 6 percent ..DROPS OUT WED

Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman — 2 percent ..NO ONE CARES

Other — 1 percent

Undecided — 2 percent

The poll was completed Sunday night after the Des Moines Register poll of 729 Iowa Republicans likely to vote Tuesday and has a statistical error margin of 3.5 percent.

“It’s basically a two-tiered race,” Matt Towery, chief pollster for InsiderAdvantage, tells Newsmax. “The first tier is Romney, Paul, Santorum, and Gingrich.”

The remaining candidates no longer are players in the GOP race for president, Towery said.

The surprise of the poll, Towery said, is how well Gingrich is doing despite “seeing blood everywhere” after the massive pummeling he’s taken in local and national TV ads, largely funded by pro-Romney supporters, attacking the former speaker’s record.

The InsiderAdvantage closing survey for Iowa has been the most accurate poll in predicting the winner. The poll foresaw John Kerry’s upset over Howard Dean in 2004, Obama’s win over Hillary Clinton in 2008, and Mike Huckabee’s surprise victory that same year.

Does Rick support granting Illegal Aliens In-State Tuition?

Did Rick ever sign a bill giving state funding to Planned Parenthood?

Did Rick attempt to vaccinate 11 year old girls against a Sexually Transmitted Disease?

Did Rick advocate a bi-National Socialized Medicine for the US and Mexico?

Did Rick sign legislation to require school kids to be tested for steroids?

Did Rick sign legislation to use taxpayer dollars to pay for kid’s braces and provide rides to the dentist?

The answer to each question is Yes and No.

Rick Perry did each of the above.

Rick Santorum is opposed to each.

Now, who is the Real Conservative?

Rick Perry or Rick Santorum?

Wouldn't want to bet any money on that, would you?

Perry not waiting for N.H. to get started in S.C.COULMBIA, S.C. -- "For Rick Perry, the sprint towards South Carolina’s January 21st primary begins not after New Hampshire, but just hours after the winner of the Iowa caucus is announced.

The Texas governor's tour of South Carolina begins on Jan. 4 in Aiken County at 3:30 p.m. with a walk through downtown Aiken followed by a “Rally in the Alley” there. He then travels west to North Augusta (about 15 minutes away from Augusta, Georgia) to meet with voters at Al’s Family Restaurant.

While Perry’s efforts in South Carolina so far have not paid off much (he had 6 percent in a December NBC News-Marist poll of voters here) his campaign is betting that with its evangelical voters and large military community, South Carolina is more fertile ground for a Perry revival than New Hampshire.

Perry’s campaign is not the only one looking to generate early South Carolina buzz. Newt Gingrich, who said earlier this week that South Carolina is a must-win for him (his spokesman later tried to walk that comment back), will start his South Carolina tour in the Upstate on the morning of January 11th, a day after the New Hampshire contest."............

This is such a GREAT group supporting Governor Perry. I’m so glad to see Lt Gov Dewhurst there too. It’s not Hollywood. It’s just Gollywood and I love it! The people who support and believe in Governory Perry make you feel like you’re part of America’s Team.

That MIGHT all be true but I kinda doubt it. But no governor on this planet is perfect. And none can turn water into wine.

Hey, name me three CURRENT conservative governors who are more qualified, experienced, and ready on day one to be POTUS and Commander-In-Chief than Governor Rick Perry?

Did Rick advocate a bi-National Socialized Medicine for the US and Mexico?

I'll grab this one out first.

Rick Perry's Intriguing Idea for Bi-National HEALTH INSURANCE …“Contrary to Sen. Santorum’s impression, the idea here was to explore the possibility of allowing private insurers to cover health services provided in either Texas or Mexico. It was an attempt at studying the deregulation of the provision of health insurance by private entities.”…

“Texas Gov. Rick Perry — 10 percent ..DROPS OUT WED”

You may be right that Perry will only garner 10% on Tuesday, but I doubt he drops out on Wednesday as Perry has one great advantage and that is the the Taxpayers of the Great State of Texas are paying the costs of Perry Travel and Perry’s security detail to a tune of $400,000.00 a month.

So, you can expect Perry to continue to feed off the Taxpayer, not unlike the large women in front of you at the grocery store with six kids, a grocery basket filled to the brim with items, a Cadillac Escalade and and a food stamp card.

Did Rick attempt to vaccinate 11 year old girls against a Sexually Transmitted Disease?

…….”The Gardasil [cervical cancer] vaccine was recommended the FDA’s vaccine approval committee, more than 6 months before Governor Perry’s Executive Order. All girls who qualified for the Federal Vaccines for Children program were eligible to receive the vaccine free of charge: Medicaid, CHIPs, and uninsured or those with insurance that won’t pay for vaccines. The Texas Legislature had previously delegated unconditional authority to mandate new vaccines to the Department of State Health Services, which is under Governor Perry and the Executive Branch.” Source

Gov. Perry's E.O. [opt out] also made all required vaccines easier to opt out of. The Legislature moved to kill the E.O. and Gov. Perry made no objection. No one was given the vaccine from the E.O.
