Another Oministration Sellout of American Technology and Ingenuity to China
Atlas Shrugs ^ | 1/5/12 | Pamela Geller

China REQUIRES all foreign investors to give up their technology to them for the "right" to build goods there. Obama-seized GM can deny it till the cows come home, but it's still a lie.

Dismantling America, chunk by chunk, piece by piece.

Anybody see the tyrant-in-chief's body language, facial expressions and hand gestures, not to mention his words, at his Ohio press conference today? He simply can't hide his hatred for America.

GM deal moves electric car development to China -- a 'shakedown'? USA Today (hat tip Van)

General Motors agreed in Shanghai today to develop an electric vehicle platform with longtime Chinese partner SAIC. It effectively moves GM's future electric vehicle development to China. Unclear is whether this would also lead to assembly of future EVs for the U.S. market in China.

The deal came as the Chinese government is pushing foreign automakers to give Chinese companies EV technology they lack, according to an Associated Press report. U.S. lawmakers have complained that China is "shaking down" GM to get Volt secrets. Electric vehicle development in the U.S. has been developed with extensive U.S. taxpayer funding.

If we don't pay China off whit these types of indirect transfers they'll stop buying our debt - and Obama can't in turn pay off his supporters using the massive social welfare system.

I believe this is known as "fundamental fairness". :)

They do not need Obama, this has been happening since NAFTA was approved by Clinton (lobbied by Bush 41) and the GOP Congress at the behest of corporate America. Once it has been established that Chinese (and soon Indian) workers can learn how to manufacture products at good quality and proficiency, the US corporations were more then happy to have China do everything that middle class American workers were able to do. China did not need to blackmail American corporations (that is corporate America’s spin and excuse to screw American workers). Freepers need to grow up. If we had the lowest corporate tax, but Chinese and Indian labor costs will add more to corporate profits in addition to tax breaks, corporate America will still move the factories and jobs overseas. Problem is these acts will enrich and strengthen the PLA, factor that freepers choose to ignore when it comes to free trade but not during budget fights for defense. What a racket, destroy US jobs, strengthen PLA, justify more defense spending, and when too many Americans are unemployed and restless, start a war with China or someone overseas.

Yes but at one time we were the China of the world. It is all just a cycle. Just before and after our revolutionary war, we were the discount builder and manufacturer.

Then came the other countries, with the near recent Japan, Korea, etc "cheap" "discount" "junk" stages. Our advantage has "for the last 50 or so years been our technological prowess. But the point is that it is all a cycle. Nothing new here.

Move along, move along?

What we really need to worry about is how many here have too much time on their hands.

We have a whole generation of busy bodies and non-producers who devote scores of hours and energy to 'green science", peace keeping, and pet rights instead of getting out and making or developing things and systems we can make money with.

The song "to much time on my hands" really does apply to way to many folks on our shores and THAT will be our downfall. Not how cheaply someone else packs a box or wires a circuit. Once that was us when we were growing cotton, growing wheat, making steel etc.

Been there done that as they say. It is all just a cycle and not out turn or place to be there right now. Not our spot in the cycle any more. We also have a standard of living that is still worlds above the rest of the world all because of our fore-fathers efforts.

There was a book I read several years ago. I forget the title now, but I know it was written by Kendrick Smith. It was basically how Washington worked. In this book, back before Gingrich was speaker of the house, they discussed and he favored NAFTA. Even while Gingrich felt NAFTA was necessary, he said the the end result could ultimately bring the American economy down to 3rd world levels.
