Well, that is what I remember people saying about him.
He may or may not have been a commie, but one of his finance advisors definitely was a commie. One of the reasons Hoover started massive surveillance of King was his refusal to get rid of the commie when the FBI brought the proof to him.
I visited (as part of a tour) his ridiculous “Chairman Mao” monument.
Interesting in that one of the biggest “complaints” about DC is that Blacks don’t visit the historic places (although many live there).
We were there and I very loudly said “don’t waste precious electrons photographing that serial philanderer.” Man, was Mrs. FD mad. In the meantime, I can guarantee you the Black community has a historical place to call their own.
I had similar kind words for the monument to that commie FDR — I wasn’t shy about calling him out for being a commie and how we are still paying for him and his Keynesian “economics.”
Mrs. FD got many chances to be mad at me on that tour :)
Yes. And an adulterer.
Next question.
“My readings of Marx convinced me that truth is found neither in Marxism nor in traditional capitalism. Each represents a partial truth. Historically capitalism failed to see truth in collective enterprise and Marxism failed to see the truth in individual enterprise The Kingdom of G-d is neither the thesis of individual enterprise nor the antithesis of collective enterprise, but a synthesis which reconciles the truths of both”
From this quote alone, he seems to be more like Mike Huckabee with a tan than Marx. I know commies. I’ve lived around commies in a very liberal city. Commies usually sidestep their affiliation with communism by saying something the likes of “Communism isn’t perfect, but capitalism is pure evil” rather than going the “third way” route. Also, MLK, despite his philandering, was a VERY religious man, which didn’t sit well with the anti-religious liberal elite of his day.
Sorry, I’m not buying the idea of MLK being a godless commie.
The answer to your question is yes.
Research the following people:
Hunter Pitts O’Dell
Bayard Rustin
Stanley Levinson
Then look into the Highlander Folk School and Martin Luther King's connection to it.
Look into the CPUSA role in the civil rights movement.
And if you want to learn more, research how much Southern Christian Leadership Committee money was used for booze and drugs and prostitutes.
Bonus question.
The night Martin Luther King was shot at the Lorraine Hotel in Memphis, how many prostitutes were in his two room hotel suite with him?
I thought he was a Republican.
Back in the day, my dad called King a “communist rabble-rouser”. I doubt King started out as a Communist, but I believe he became one toward the end of his life. King’s drinking and womanizing convince me that his religion was political, not spiritual.
