The One Simple Reason Newt Gingrich Will Not Win The General Election: Women

Posted by RealQuiet (Diary) December 7th

Newt Gingrich has conducted a brilliant campaign strategy since he stumbled back in late spring regarding Paul Ryan’s Path to Prosperity Plan. He has been masterful in debates and shown an eagerness to take on and fight the media elite. He has owned up to his personal and political mistakes and stated candidly what his positions are, though many may disagree with them but still live with them.

He hasn’t shown the brash ego and self-centeredness that reared its ugly head so many times when he was the Speaker of the House. He certainly seems to be a changed man.

BUT…..

Though Gingrich has engaged in his own political cronyism and playing both sides of the fence on political issues like Mitt Romney has in the past (which the Republican voter seems to be willing to overlook), there is one thing that will stop him from winning the general election:

A considerable majority of American women will not vote for him because of his past marital actions of betrayal

Most American women whether they be Democrat, independent, or Republican will not vote for a man who cheated on his previous wife(s). Among women, men like this cannot and will not be trusted. People like to point out that Ronald Reagan had two wives. The key thing is Ronald Reagan never cheated on Jane Wyman, his first wife. She left him because there was nothing left in common between them as she claimed. That is a very big difference.

Under Obama's economy, women have done so incredibly well...

The MSM must be in a panic right now. Their boy Mittens is hurting and ABC's hit that they worked on for months failed to work.

Newt should run an ad. “I’ll put you, your husbands, sons, and daughters back to work - Obama won’t.”

I’m glad you’re in the 40%.
Thank you.

Did you notice the “on average” qualifier?

I’m thinking you didn’t.

You are right, I didn’t.
Sorry about that.

I’m thinking you’re a thinking person and don’t vote...across the board...Democrat.

If you look at my home page, you will see there is nothing remotely Democrat about me.

I apologize for going off on you.
Thanks for writing back.

When Newt debates, the other candidates come away with “I wish I said that.” Notice Romney’s feeble attempt to echo what Newt said on immigration in the debate the other nite -point for point. Romney is no debater - reminds me of an old boss I had. This guy was content to milk the contracts we had and not even attempt to grow the business - stick his neck out. Even the customers were wondering why we didn’t pursue new work. Newt is an aggressive ideas guy.

I don’t know a single woman who’ll vote for him.

I know several. talked to one the other night who said he's the only republican she can tolerate. I work with a bunch of female nurses. they're predominatly well off and conservative. they'll vote for the Republican regardless of who it is. If they won't, they weren't going to anyways. There will always be those who vote for the candidate with the best hair of course and some may be turned off by his "issues" just like some men. They'll have to make their choice and live with it.

You are right, of course. Many Freepers behave like that New York socialite in the 1980s who claimed she didn't know anybody who voted for Reagan.

It's not Christian women in the South that will be problematic for Newt. It's women in general in swing states that will be. Independent women don't like Newt (or any conservative who has been proven a cheater, today or in the past) because the expectation is different. When conservative candidates keep talking about family values and then turned out to be cheating at the same time, it's not the 'family values' itself that they object. It's the hypocrisy of the candidates. Liberals don't get attack for the same reason because they don't talk about social morality all the time.

So I guess while you’re at it you want to take away the right for blacks and Hispanics and Asians to vote too?

(Now watch, a couple of FR women will jump all over me and claim “I wasn’t fawning all over Perry”... and I’ll just say what Ron Paul said in the debate to Santorum: “I didn’t mention you by name,
***************************
*waves hands* ....Here I am!

I think Perry has/had the best character of all the candidates. Others may disagree but that is my opinion of the man and I think he proved himself a class act when he stepped out.

Was he good looking? I suppose so, by general standards, but that wasn’t exactly what sold me.( I kinda like the looks of Anthony Hopkins and Clint Eastwood—Perry wasn’t quite my type)

Perry is a good person and that is what I appreciate. He didn’t change an opinion to fit what others demand. If he thought something moral and right, he stood by his idea/opinion, no matter.

There is nothing on the outside to compare to the beauty of an inside job. He is a good man. That is what is attractive...his convictions and he is authentic.

I suppose Perry must be a very lucky and loved man— to have so many fuss about his good looks when his greatest asset is what is on the inside and he has a wife who looks at him so loving and adoringly. Still, after all these years.

I don’t care what people think about my support of Perry. A good man is a good man and pity those who can’t see it.
I am proud of Perry, now more than ever. He is a fine man.

Newt does not leave me cold, nor other women I know. In fact, I would rather be around him and have a conversation with him that anyone on the podium. I never tire of hearing him speak.
