A Question for Mitt Romney
citizen5408.com ^ | January 26, 2012 | Greg C.

Dear Mitt:

In this year's contest for the Republican nomination, you have demonstrated your ruthlessness. Your attacks on fellow Republicans have show that you are willing to be as brutal, vile, and remorseless as is necessary to defeat your opponent.

Presumably, this is how you made $200 million in about 12 years at Bain.

In 2008 and now in 2012 you have left a field of wounded warriors in your wake: Huckabee, Giulianni and now Newt. We can see you are willing to be as dirty and nasty as you need to be to win. But the question remains, will you do the same to Barack Obama?

Will the media stand by and let that happen? I think the press will protect Obama the way a lioness protects her young.

They will make you out to be a ruthless corporate raider, an opportunistic villain, the perfect caricature of corporate evil so ably portrayed by Michael Douglas as Gordon Gekko.

They have teed up their arguments already with their Occupy protests. Thus, they will cow you to keep the gloves on and go down to a polite, Republican defeat just like John Sidney McCain.

They won't let you get away with it.

That's why I think you will lose in the general.

That's why I’m still with Newt.

Mitt Romney Gordon Gekko

Your attacks on fellow Republicans

Come on. Gingrich has been attacking everything from Romney's treatment of the family pet to his being a businessman, so let's stop acting like attacks aren't part of every campaign.

Romney is the nastiest campaigner that I have ever seen in a Republican primary.

Your defense of the destructive jerk is undeserved.

A valid question for Mitt: will you, sir, be as nasty against Hussein the enemy of America as you've been against Newt the proven patriot--and the answer is of course not.

Mitt is endorsed by McCain and Dole because he is a eunuch, defanged, declawed, housebroken.

We made Hussein as a crypto Islamo-Communist closeted homosexual drug user four years ago--with a birth other than that required by Article II Section 1.

Mitt says the president is in over his head. He says this repeatedly. It is what the coward says to satan.

Mitt pretends to always be on the safe side, thus there cannot be a real view of the dark side.

Newt's been walking the line to the wild side all his life.

He knows an enemy of America--That's what this is:

An enemy of America, of freedom--and Alinsky dedicated Reveille to Lucifer.

"In over his head"--

No, Mitt, you won't do at all. Get in the corner with the weaklings and watch.

Romney only attacks his enemies: conservative patriots!

He// no, he won't attack the Marxist.

He refused to even call obama "a socialist"!!!

I agree. The man is vile. I won’t be able to vote for him.

What?

Gingrich ran a clean campaign, no attack ads until Romney & Paul bombarded him in Iowa!!

I would not enjoy working with people who see Romney as a model for their attitude towards co-workers. They don’t understand the difference between his running for POTUS and their own positions of relative unimportance.

You must be kidding. Romney undercut Fred Thompson in 2008 with false rumors of dropping out. His people are behind the knee capping of Palin in the closing weeks of the 2008 campaign to ‘clear the way’ for 2012.

They brutalized Newt in Iowa. Romney’s campaign against conservatives is like none we have ever seen in inter-party campaigning.

Newt ran a purely positive campaign until after Iowa where 80 percent of the ad spend in that race was negative towards him.

Are you a Romneybot?

It was Willard’s vile ad attacks in Iowa which started this mess. In fact, Newt’s numbers went down in part because he would not respond to the attacks initially.

One thing that really struck me in last night’s debate was Romney’s feigned ignorance of the ads his super PACs were running, implying that he had no control over them.

Romney’s a ******* liar.

Sniff.

Can you "defend" Romney's treatment of the family dog?

I would understand if the dog's transport cage had been put up there while unloading at a rest stop, and forgotten; but to choose to put the dog up there ab initio is *quite* different.

And his being a businessman? How about vulture capitalist? There were articles in the business press at the time about LBO firms borrowing money to buy a firm, completing a sale where the firm agreed to take on the debts of the purchasers as part of the 'deal,' and then selling off the few functioning divisions of the enterprise and pocketing the loot: leaving a debt-ridden, dysfunctional shell doomed to imminent bankruptcy.

Pure greed, equivalent to Shelob. Or analogous to clearcutting as opposed to the forest management practiced in the Upper Midwest by contemporary lumber companies.

Whereas the attacks on Palin and now Newt were vicious, personal, unwarranted, and without fingerprints.

Romney is scum.

Cheers!

When I heard Romney's answer on the campaign ad he personally ‘approved’, his facial tick demonstrated he was lying... Then came the Fannie and Freddie bashing against Newt and there came that same facial tick when he lied and said his vast wealth was in a ‘blind’ trust.

Romney backers apparently approved of liars and they try and paint Newt as being Clinton without a personality. I think the Carville approach about dragging dollars through certain residential areas applies to the ‘rich’ as well.

Gingrich has been attacking

That ignores the record, DW. Newt Gingrich actually was running a positive campaign up through New Hampshire. He was buried by Romney attack ads in Iowa that carried over to NH.

He then realized he had unilaterally disarmed against Al Qaeda who was going after him with malicious style, not just campaign opposition. This same man is probably the source of the Herman Cain attacks, the Rick Perry attacks, and there was a Rick Santorum attack this morning.

So, is Gingrich fighting back now? I would hope so.
