Who do you mean by “they”? Primary voters? If “they” are successful in getting Romney as the nominee?

That would be the establishment players and politicians in the GOP. You know, the ones that are not conservatives, i.e. the rinos and their backers. The ones who want to just continue getting along and work with the democrats, and allow the country to slowly be destroyed.

What method would you prefer to be utilized to pick the GOP nominee if not by votes in primaries?

It's not the method of voting, it's the tactics utilized to ensure their guy (Romney) gets the votes. The coordinated collective activity to destroy any other candidate except their man. It's the fact that they are lying and attacking one of their own party, rather than just attacking Obama and his agenda, and then letting the voters decide who's the best one to nominate
