Are some preparations in order? Perhaps. Some very faithful Christians may even say its a must. But in the end, what I believe with everything in my heart is that there is no amount of physical preparation that will bring you salvation. It may delay some suffering for a bit, but it will never be enough. So whether you stock up for an ice age or you stock up your treasures in heaven, the only REAL solution is faith in Jesus Christ.

You are entitled to your faith and beliefs. Salvation and survival are two totally different things. You are fully entitled to raise your arms and heart to the heaves and ask for help in surviving. I will pray for the strength, vision, guts to help me and mine survive. There are a lot of Christians through out history who honestly believed that faith was all they needed to survive. They died right beside the non believers.

In the history of the world men and nature have often caused such devastation that people have cried out for the Lord to end it all.

Knowing that that would be the case maybe is why the Bible contains many such verse as:

“In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but the foolish man devours all he has.”Proverbs 21:20

“Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander, no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.” Proverbs 6:6-8

A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences. Proverbs 27:12

Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 5:8
