Santorum kills Impeachment proceeding against Bill Clinton
The Freedomist ^ | 1-20-2012 | Collier Brothers

Posted on 02/07/2012 11:50:33 AM PST by TitansAFC

Rick Santorum tells South Carolina voters that he is the only conservative purist in the field, attacking Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney for being unreliable conservatives. Well, THE FREEDOMIST has already exposed Rick Santorum for his betrayal of a core conservative value, the right to work, the protection against Union thuggery. He is FOR right to work but NEVER votes for right to work legislation. He also endorsed Arlen Specter in his 1996 Presidential run, in 2004 against true conservative Pat Toomey, AND even endorsed Mitt Romney in his 2008 Presidential run. Well, worse than even his right to vote betrayal and his endorsements of RINOS and future democrats was the work that he did as a Senator in the Clinton years, when he and Trent Lott undermined the Senate efforts to bring Bill Clinton to trial after the House impeached him for lying under oath.

That’s right, this pure conservative, who attacks like a tiny lap dog (see Thursday’s debate for a classic example of what an attack lap dog looks like when he nips at the heels of others), was instrumental, along with Trent Lott, in stopping the Clinton Impeachmment proceeedings, in rescuing Bill Clinton from facing a fair trial of his peers. This action should not be surprising to the people who remember how aggressively Rick Santorum worked to torpedo a true conservative, Pat Toomey, in 2004, from removing a future democrat and former RINO, Arlen Specter.

Here is all the proof you need to see that Santorum, in fact, killled the impeachment proceedings against Bill Clinton, just another reflection of how Santorum is the face of Conservative Purity in Name Only (CPINO- which also sounds like the name of an exotic small wolf dop that yips and yips and yips at everyon’e ankles):....

You are correct, JR has endorsed, IMHO early. The admins however, and to their credit, have not treated Santorum supporters like they do Romneybots or Paulistas. Many Newt supporters in our “family” do not have these manners.

Newt will be ON the MO ballot in March when it counts. There was a very low turn out in my district today and many that are voting for Santorum are going to switch to Newt in March.
Citizens Against Government Waste (which is a non-partisan watchdog group) named Santorum as porker of the month for his earmark spending. He also voted to not only fund the National Endowment of the Arts but to INCREASE funding for them. Santorum OPPOSES any privitazation of Soc Sec. He is against allowing younger workers to invest a portion of their own money towards their retirement. Santorum supports the min wage and govt regulation of wages.
Not to mention his endorsement of Spector who later joined the democrat party and cast the 6oth vote to pass Obamacare. NO TO RICK SANTORUM! GO NEWT!

For anyone who takes the time to read this, it is truly a study of Sanctimonium’s character and his oft-lauded “standing on principled conservatism”.

To sum the article up, Newt the Sinner, protected the Constitution and fought the lonely battle. Saint Sanctimonium did the bidding of Trent Lott, and when people challenged him, stormed out of the room, in one of his famous hissy fits.

No need to even discuss Sanctimonium’s duplicity, and playing both sides against one another. But then, he’s the sinless saint, so let’s vote for a coward, and backstabber. He’s a holier-than-thou hypocrite, who points out the planks in other’s eyes, without knowing he is nearly blinded by the one in his own.

I am going to go back and read the article again. Thanks so much for posting. Seeing how people react in everyday situations, where sometimes the greatest most meaningful battles are waged, often opens eyes and puts things into everyday life terms that people can relate to and picture their ownselves in... What’s clear, though, is the behind-closed-doors Santorum doesn’t exactly line up with the perfect-conservative public Santorum. Thanks again.

At this point, maybe, just maybe, it might be a real good idea to refrain from posts that rip Newt and/or Santorum for sins committed in the '90s.

I, for one, really don't want Mitt Romney as the nominee.

I would NEVER make a statement like that without knowing it were true and factual.

I see that others have already shown you proof.

Santorum is NO conservative. He voted to not only fund the National Endowment of the Arts but to increase funding for them; he was named Porker of the month by the non-partisan taxpayer’s watchdog group..Citizens Against Govt Waste for his wasteful earmark projects; he OPPOSES allowing younger workers to invest a portion of their own money towards their retirement. Santorum is against Soc Sec reform or privatization. He voted to raise the debt ceiling several times. NO THANKS! NO TO SANTORUM! GO NEWT!

Yet - others are hell-bent on tearing down Santorum as if that's going to benefit Newt.

Until proof is presented on this thread that the article citing "From the Diaries of Congressman James E. Rogan, House Manager, Clinton Impeachment Trial" is false, it appears that the Santorum supporters are squealing that even though Newt has been vetted up, down and sideways in the past few months, Romney is vetted on FR every day,...but don't anyone DARE to vet Santorum.

I call BS on that!

Yeah, he apparently “understood” the times we were in during Clinton’s impeachment as well. That was a pivotal moment for me, much like the Kennedy assassination. And, the “republican” senate could not bring itself to do its job because its so “special” don’tcha know. That’s precisely why I’m not a great fan of Santorum. Because, he’s unlikey to cut throats when it’s called for. He, simply, doesn’t have that “take-no-prisoners” attitude and it shows. I want a fighter because, dammit, we’re in a fight!

Personally I like to know the 'character' of the person that is asking me for my vote. This is by a person who was there, one on one who was fulfilling his Constitutional 'oath'. Unfortunately Santorum took his oath to the high minded ProudGOP establishment... Look where we are due to these 'high' minded moderates that have treated conservatives by the Alinsky rules.

Mr. Rogan, IF by chance you happen to see this, I want you to know how much your efforts were appreciated in upholding your 'oath' of office.

You might want to read this:

http://www.politijim.com/2012/02/worship-santorum-shoe.html

Look, if Santorum is the nominee I will support him. He isn’t my favorite for a number of reasons. I dont think he is as conservative as people think and despite his holier than thou attitude, he is a politician with a politician’s vices. I also think his rather over the top social conservatism will make social issues a focus of the fall election and that will turn off quite a few voters.

I also think, in many ways, he will be a copy of George W. Bush. We will have a strong foreign policy (which I like) but his domestic economic policy will be lacking.

While Newt can say some crazy things, in his heart he is a Reagan conservative, which I will take over a W conservative any day of the week and twice on sunday. And in terms of going off the reservation, Reagan once said that we should blockade Cuba because of the Soviet invasion of afghanistan and promoted “star wars” to defend ourselves from nuclear attack. If they had the internet and twitter back then he would have been lampooned just as much as Newt is today for some of the things he said.

The 'truth' is a smear???? How shallow.... this is written by James Rogan, and he was there. Put a blankey over your eyes if the 'light' of truth blinds you.

You post all this cr@p like it was his agenda, when you know full well these things come tacked into must pass bills like the budget. Bills are always load with this stuff it is the DC way and you know it. How about listing the President that signed all this stuff, would we Find Reagan's name on similar stuff? Why yes, yes we would, he even approved the Department of Education, even tho he ran specifically on a platform to repeal it.

Personally I like to know the 'character' of the person that is asking me for my vote.

I'm pretty confident I know their characters i.e. non-existent and this applies to all but Paul who is, unfortunately, a whack-job bent on committing national suicide.

And now that you know what their characters are what do you plan to do about it? Stay home?
