See the above paragraph from a very secular radio station in Cincy. Look at the last sentence.

This practice, known as the “laying on of hands,” is a form of worship during which numerous believers come around an individual and offer up prayers for him or her. The significance is both symbolic and literal, as the Holy Spirit and blessing are sought for the subject of the group prayer.

The laying on of hands......and praying of all things. How horrible.

How can these pastors be so positive toward the institution that Obama loves to hate on.

Why are Pastors ‘Laying Hands’ on Rick Santorum in TX?

Because we do that down here; primarily in Charismatic/Pentecostal churches.

Paul said, ‘John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.’ On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied” (Acts 19:4-6).

“While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles. For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God” (Acts 10:44-46).

To the headline: why not? They were probably praying for protection over him and guidance for him.
Imagine that praying together for someone.

It makes me unbelievably sad that the act of praying for someone while “laying on hands” has to be explained to anyone.

Even if you are outside the realm of Christianity, can you not immediately figure it out?

Really?

We do it in my Methodist church, and in the Baptist church I grew up in. But, I agree with you, it is also a very common thing in Charismatic/Pentecostal churches.

In my area here in Ohio, I can’t think of a church that doesn’t do it....including Catholic.

It is sad. I loved the picture of Newt and wife being prayed for in the same way.

...most don’t know how many states there are, can”t name a country that starts with a “U” and have no idea what the Declaration of Independance is. This doesn’t surprise me in the least. History, religion and economics are what’s missing in the class room and for a reason.

Informed a “friend” yesterday about the new airline rules that allow him to put his instruments in overhead storage. I received this reply,

“What?!?! This is what’s wrong with this country! Obama and his liberal agenda along with the “lame” stream media force this kind of instrument carrying down our throats! What about the rights of the people who are infringed upon that don’t play an instrument? This will create an entitled society with people that play instruments and travel having their hand out waiting for the government to have access to every part of their traveling life. This must be stopped! Rick Santorum and the bible beaters in 2012!”

He’s gone around the bend I guess!

Santorum has been a voice for life and for life based on profound religious convictions for years and years.

Ohhhh watch out now! That Rick Santorum and those preachers 'laying hands on him'??!? Sounds like some sort of Bible-believing potential terrorist cult!

Call Big Sis! Notify the White House! Alert the FBI swat teams!

I hope they keep doing this. Rick Santorum would be great president.

All the DC liberals in the GOP Establishment are having fits right about now.

As a Catholic myself, I find this beautiful. I thank these pastors for praying for and laying their hands on Rick.

WHY WERE PASTORS ‘LAYING HANDS’ ON RICK SANTORUM IN TX?

Trick question? Because they don't have a robust doctrine of the two kingdoms.

Yes, Texas is much different than what many of our out-of-state detractors present.

Obozo has declared War on ALL Christians, Jews and some other faiths. It is the Duty of “We the People” to remove him in the November Election.

And after the election to identify and remove the traitors who have enabled him. Trials, convictions and punishment for those who criminally enabled him.

Not just Pentecostal churches, many other churches (Nazarene, Free Methodist, Wesleyan, Baptists, do that as well)
