Would Electing a non-Romney Shake up Establishment's Control of Members and Votes on the Hill?

Could there be a real awakening - the removal of the Establishment's shackles from elected officials and their votes - if Americans vote in a non-Romney nominee?

I imagine the GOP Establishment cringes at the idea - the spectacle and sense of power that would create [shrink government; states' rights, remove Federal Agencies.....] in "We the People!"

This conservative "revolution" could have positive consequences outside of the Executive. Will our elected officials' loyalty return to their constituents and away from their fear of party leadership's power over their re-election fate? Will they remember who they serve? Will more conservatives rally and return to the election process once they see they can make a difference?

This could trickle up and down the ticket for years to come. What are your thoughts?

Hell Yes
With a president and his administration continually moving to kill our Constitution and the establishment doing nothing, like impeachment, fire the handwringers in mass.

Newt will happily blow up the Establishment. It must be done if our country is to possibly be saved. Romney would be a placeholder President, one who would attempt to manage our descent into Greek despondence. Our republic cannot survive either four more Obama years or a President of the Bush, Dole, Bush, McCain molds.

I want my legislator to fear ME more than he/she fears the party.

The GOP elite will bring out all their guns and train them on the non-Romney so they can show "the people" who's running things.

George W. Bush didn’t veto a single bill until the democrats took over the congress. A non-establishment president would veto bloated bills that the congress passes. That’s how you pull congress back into line and affect votes on the Hill.

Elect a non-Romney (I would have preferred Perry who wants to return power to the states, cut regulations and the time Congress stays in DC -- but that isn't in the cards) who will pull out the veto pen (like Perry did -- here in Texas; it's referred to as the Father's Day massacre, but I digress) and make Congress start cutting way back on the size of the federal government.

And if they don't, the non-Romney (as Perry said he planned to do) should go to the states and campaign for those running for office on a 10th Amendment platform of returning power to the states. The people will like that and they will turn out those in Congress who are doing nothing to shrink government.

Exactly! And by thumbing our noses at the Establishment’s presidential nominee choice — that message is one the Congress will hear ahead of the (we can only hope) vetoes that will soon follow. And if the WH and those on the Hill don’t start doing that....well, they’ve been given fair warning that the “rabble” isn’t going along with the “Do-nothing different than the Dems” party anymore.

Newt is the only (surviving) candidate who can take on the elites and the corruption. If he wins, there will be unbridled chaos within the Beltway.
