Pokerstars is Rigged (Vanity)

I'm so sick of PS. They rig every high stakes hand. They always have a lesser hand win on the last (river) card when the pots are big. Also, they guy with the largest stack wins, especially when he has a lesser hand.

FU pokerstars. I'll take my money somewhere else.

I suspect that most of the Internet bid sites are also rigged. Just before the bid expires, it automatically raises, until it gets the prices up to near retail.

Gambling money on the internet with opponenents you can’t see and have no way of knowing or ever finding out who (or what) they are...

Nothing could go wrong with that.

You play so many more hands per hour that you're mind gets confused by the win/loss rate. That is if you're coming from Brick and Mortar poker rooms like me.

PS doesn't stack the deck against you. That would be stupid. That would be like blowing up a gold mine just to get the gold on the surface.

But cheating is rampant online. Anything involving money is going to have suspicious activity surrounding it. I've known a few guys that play the same game and are on mumble chat or ventrilo (voip utilities) and share card info. They don't have to coordinate play, just knowing more cards out of play than you do means you're going to get the snot beat out of you month after month.

Also, during tournament play a lot of stack dumping takes place amongst players making deals and taking percentages.

High stakes and low stakes you're probably not going to get cheated at. Mid stakes is where you're going to get cheated at. $.25 - $.50 you're not going to get cheated at. $1-$2 you will. $5-$10 you're probably not going to be cheated at (NLHE, PLO, PLO/8)

I play PLO, PLO/8 at cake poker. $.50-$1.00 blind generally and I do nothing but nut-peddle and I win very consistently. The reason being is Omaha is a more complex game than holdem and you can beat all the "statistics collectors" who profile you because you can change styles on a dime. You can't do that in Hold'em.

When I could play on PS or Fulltilt, I play 8 game and 10 game. It's difficult to get cheated in those games.

Warning though, I do no endorse playing poker on Cake or any other online poker room that accepts U.S players. You're money can be confiscated or very difficult to cash out.

One thing I know for sure about PS software. The cards DO NOT come off the deck in a realistic way. There’s way too many flush and straight draws. Just too many sick beats all the time.

As a player in the US I can’t play in real money games anymore but my play money bank is over 1.5 million on PS. So I’ve won my share even with the software being so wacky. I’ve also won quite a few of the tourneys.

Once they legalize poker for the US I am going to take my poker money somewhere other then PS.

You are better off finding some real life games. The problem with playing online is that randomness cannot be simulated by a program. It can get close to randomness but not completely, and if it is not completely then it means there is a pattern. There is also a large possibility of collusion playing online. People may be friends in cash games talking on telephone conference or skype and know each others cards waiting for some unlucky person to come across their table and they are able to trap him easily especially if the person in question is seated between them. There are also employees who can take advantage of their software, like one employee at absolute poker hacked their software and took people for roughly $500,000. Then you also have the case of full tilt poker with those famous poker players were defrauding their clients.

Just stick to real life where there is less of a possibility someone would cheat you without their internet barrier of safety.

I love Omaha hi/lo...we play it amongst our group at 1-2 nl. I I usually play WPT site. 19.99 per month...you win seats in satellites to play for bugger pots etc...not a true cash for play site.

PS doesn't stack the deck against you.

I tend to agree. There's a lot of statistical software out there now. So it would be quite easy for anyone to monitor a site for house cheating. And once a house got caught, word would spread like wildfire on the internet. Then goodbye the golden goose (the house rake). I can't imagine a major site taking that kind of risk. Now, I sure do believe that there is player collusion, as you mentioned. And accounting fraud by the house itself, oh yeah. But house cheating on nickel and dime games? Not likely.
