I agree with most every word you say here Dusty, but I’m not jumping on a ‘brokered convention bandwagon’

Rather, the character assassination of Newt Gingrich by the old guard GOP and Romney campaign was the last straw for me... I’m not voting for him, I’m disgusted... and to me Santorum is a guaranteed loser

It’s not a fad, from where I’m standing, brokered convention is the only hop I’ve got left

I agree, we're in a poor position. Romney is a non-starter as far as I'm concerned, as is Paul. I don't know enough about Santorum but my perception is that he's weak.

Which leaves us Newt or a surprise candidate from a brokered convention. I like Jeb Bush, but the Bush dynasty has had its run and Jeb is a non-starter for me. I like Sarah, but there are a bunch of folks who have fallen for the DBM's portrayal of her as a political lightweight and won't vote for her . . . . . even if it means another 4 years of Obama.

As I pointed out in my reply to the post before this one, if we end up with a surprise candidate from a brokered convention, he or she will have to be someone that our broadly fractured party can get behind and support. IOW, a uniter. I just don't see that person anywhere on the horizon.
